My golden retriever Ginger
.This is pretty much my first acrylic painting, or at least my first since 2005, and I realize that...I love acrylics o_o. Why did I wait so long to use them again? Sure, they're challenging, and I didn't do a perfect job AT ALL, and digital's much easier (for me at least)...but...they're so much fun
!Anyway, I've been wanting to do this painting for years but didn't get the courage until this past weekend. But anyway, this is Ginger in her usual position--sleeping/about to sleep
. I wanted to capture the feeling I get whenever I'm with her--she brings so much joy and coziness (for lack of a better word) to my life, and I'm so thankful to have her . Oh, and the top of the painting got a little messed up from glare from taking a photo, so ignore it .Time spent: around 8-10 hours? Maybe less?
Size: 16"x20" (much bigger than usual xD, which is why it took a bit of time)

I love the details here. It looks so realistic that it could be a detailed portrait, only with the loving touch that's only possible with a drawn work. I especially love her eyes- you captured the perfect look that dogs so often give. What a great piece!

This is amazing. You worked a lot of colors into her fur really well, awesome blending throughout, and as always, you have an eye for highlights. It went really well with the dark background, plus I like that red sheet she's lying on
