Holy crud- first of all- LOVE YA for this sweet and awesome lineart pic and letting me try coloring it.

I had a hard time choosing how to color this. I tried cel shade and painterly, but because the style reminded me more of a western style than say manga, I decided to try a really simplistic soft coloring approach. The same style as say... Jeff Smith and his Bone series.

Lesson learned: Doing things simple is hard
I'm reminded of this old comic page of Psylocke kicking ass in the Xmen Danger room but when someone gave her a 'simple' test of picking up a coin with her mind she couldn't do it. Then there was that scene in Shaolin Soccer where Sing had to learn to kick an egg without breaking it. Then there's my teacher last semester telling me I need to pull back-point is- I've got ways to go in coloring and making something look effortless. But fun experiment overall.
