Personality
Enneagram: Type 5 "The Investigator"
Positive
Disciplined - showing a controlled form of behavior or way of working.
Teka was the chosen child, she never had the chance to break the rules. Her mother had quickly quashed any signs of misbehavior the minute they appeared. Due to her mother’s strict parenting, young Teka is a well behaved and refined little pup. Often times, she will get frustrated with herself if she accidentally breaks mother’s rules… even if mother isn’t around anymore.
Reverent - feeling or showing deep and solemn respect.
The stories of Malaysia and how the Kol had come to be were always fascinating to Teka. There were many things about her family and her pack that didn’t make sense to her young mind but she still has a deep respect and curiosity for them nonetheless. She struggles to comprehend the possibilities that stand before her but mother had always told her that understanding would come with time.
Urbane - courteous and refined in manner.
Teka doesn’t remember most of the wolves she met before mother was sick, but mother had always told her that she’d need as many allies as she could get. That meant, Teka needed to make friends. The mother and daughter duo would regularly sit around and have fake conversations, where Kuini would test Teka’s social skills. While Teka wasn’t afraid to speak to strangers, she did struggle to hold a meaningful discussion. However, she still managed to be respectful and friendly. Teka learned to never interrupt people and to only bring up things of importance.
Neutral
Contemplative - expressing or involving prolonged thought.
With so many rules, young Teka often struggled to form her own thoughts or opinions. When asked questions, she often finds herself having to thoroughly think over her answer.. which she always made sure mother would approve.
Farsighted - having or showing imagination or foresight.
The only time she ever had time to herself, was when Mother slept. Teka would oftentimes spend her nights gazing up at the stars imagining wolves running through the sky, birds swooping through the clouds, and rabbits hopping from tree branches. This was the side of her that even mother didn’t know, but it was the only part of her that she had to herself. Even if it’s a childish side to her, Teka loves to imagine the impossible.
Absentminded - showing a habitually inattentive disposition.
This side of Teka was Kuini’s least favorite. She hated finding Teka lost in her own mind, or losing focus during important teachings. Teka had grown used to her mother smacking her on the head with her tail to drag her attention back to the topic.
Negative
Amoral - lacking a moral sense; unconcerned with the rightness or wrongness of something.
Not being able to think for herself, Teka grew quite indifferent to things mother didn’t find important. Kuini had always told Teka it wasn’t her job to worry about the moral of their actions if the actions would make their ancestors proud.
Maladroit - ineffective or bungling; clumsy.
Maybe it’s something she’ll grow out of, or maybe she's simply destined to be an awkward wolf but Teka is quite the oddball. She struggles to read other wolves and oftentimes misses the point. Reading a room is not her talent and it was something that had always driven mother insane.
Naive - showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment.
Teka is young, and everyone knows how impressionable children can be. The small pup has no idea how to decide right from wrong, when to act, or when to not. As much as her mother thought she was setting Teka up for success, Kuini has actually managed to leave her daughter without a lot of life experience. Normally she kept Teka hidden away, not allowing her to socialize with wolves outside Kuini’s inner circle. Teka has never met another pup, or even had the luxury to play like a normal pup… she’s sure got a lot to learn.

History
Before Birth:
Life was hard for Teka from the very start. Her mother, Kuini, wasn’t a very kind wolf. From the very beginning, Kuini had been raised to believe her family carried the strongest bloodline on the island, and that they were destined to one day rule over the island once again. The story of their families’ misfortunes had been passed down for generations, at least that’s what Kuini had been taught. Her parents had said that the family would forever be cursed until someone of their bloodline took hold of the island once more and ruled over the other wolves. They had told Kuini that every wolf in their family had a different curse. Her grandfather had been cursed with a mysterious early death and her mother was sick with no medicinal cure. It wasn’t until years later after her mother and father had both passed that Kuini discovered her own curse.
She had fallen in love with a handsome young wolf and after spending many months with him, they began to question each other over their inability to start a family. Kuini knew… she knew it was most likely her fault but she refused to believe it and lashed out at her mate before leaving their love behind. She was the last one… this couldn’t be her curse.
The only distraction Kuini managed to get from her cursed life was the beautiful, magical appearance of Malaysia. Kuini had only thought she knew everything about the island but the whispers and stories that came from Malaysia and her followers were so new, so fascinating. It wasn’t hard for Teka’s young mother to become a follower, not when the red wolf offered power, a power she had never imagined possible. For a brief moment, Kuini wondered if somehow this wolf shared the same blood as her… but that couldn’t be possible, she would have known.
When the beach massacre came, Kuini was right there, standing behind Malaysia and cutting down the humans alongside her new pack mates. When it was time, she followed them north and quickly established herself as a loyal pack member. However, her curiosity could never be sated. Kuini was always poking her nose around where it didn’t need to be and needed her questions answered. Could she gain powers like the Alva? Could her powers remove her family’s curse? No. If Malaysia found out about her family and their true purpose, she would have Kuini tossed off Remiel in a heartbeat. That was the first time she had realized… she posed a threat to Malaysia, even if the she-wolf didn’t realize it. That's the conclusion Kuini had come to, that is.
Being up north, Kuini did find herself going stir crazy, so she often snuck around in the free lands, and of course, she had to meet a handsome Tundes wolf. He hadn’t regarded her cruelly, only curiously. That’s when she got the idea to recruit the wolf, add to Malaysia’s numbers while finally having a close friend in the north. First, she had to make sure he was trustworthy, make sure he was committed. So, they began to meet up more and more often, and each time Kuini would spill more and more secrets and stories about the Kol. He had always seemed so interested, entranced by her every word. Kuini had thought it was his fascination with the power the Kol obviously helped… but no, it was only because the words came from her. When the time came, and Kuini deemed the handsome outsider worthy Kuini invited him to join her… she had never expected the look of horror on his face when she spoke the words. He had never intended on joining her, he had simply enjoyed her company and foolishly thought they could work something out where he didn’t have to leave his home… but the damage was done, he had hurt her and she couldn’t trust him. He had managed to make Kuini feel stupid for trusting him, and she knew that if he left he had the power to spill every single thing she had told him to the rest of his pack. He couldn’t ruin everything she had built, no.
It wasn’t as difficult as she had expected, ending his life. It was easy for Kuini to sink into her rage and do what needed to be done. It was even easier to turn her back to his lifeless body and return home as if nothing had happened. What wasn’t easy… was the moment Kuini felt the first signs of life in her belly. He had helped her break her curse, and she had thanked him with death. For a short moment, Kuini allowed herself to feel sadness, but even she couldn’t deny the excitement that sparked inside of her. She would be the one to finally raise a ruler and make all of her ancestors proud. For so long she had fantasized about it but now it was actually happening.
Kuini had been planning for this day for so many years, she considered the plan to be foolproof. She would pick the strongest pup and make them the perfect protege for Malaysia, so perfect that even the Alva couldn’t deny them. Little did Malaysia know that this pup would receive the same entrancing whispers she had as a pup… whispers, and promises of great power as long as they took the power and ruled over the island. To do that, they would have to overpower Malaysia eventually.
That was the plan Kuini had worked and reworked every single day of her pregnancy. By the time her pups finally came, Kuini had memorized the plan and knew there was no way for her to fail.
Puppyhood:
The second her pups took their first breath, Kuini’s plan was set in motion. Kuini nurtured them with the utmost love, but her kind nature only lasted so long. As soon as the three siblings could walk, Kuini would often disappear for short amounts of times. It was never long enough to put her children in danger, but she obviously had important duties and trusted her children enough to stay in the den. That ultimately, had been a mistake.
One cold day, while the snow filtered through the forest at a steady pace, the more mischievous Tohe had convinced shy Iti to explore outside of the den while their mother was gone. Teka of course, had refused due to the level of discipline already instill in her. Tohe had called her names, told her not to be a stick in the mud, but once her sibling had realized there was no convincing her, the other two set out on their own. Not once had Teka thought to convince them not to go, only that she would remain like mother had told her to. Tohe and Iti never returned after that day. Once mother had come back, she had fretfully scolded Teka for not stopping them, yelled at her for letting them go out on such a cold day. That was the first time Teka had ever been scolded by her mother, but it surely wouldn't be the last. After hours of searching for her siblings, with the help of a few others, everyone agreed that there was no way they could still be alive. Some assumed a hungry fox had picked them off, or they had made it to a water source and drown... but no one would truly know what happened to her siblings that day.
Teka, her scrawny rust-colored pup was the only one of her children to make it, but Kuini took it as a sign that she must be the chosen one. As Teka grew, her mother told her just that. She continued the family tradition of teaching her child the history of their family, about their curses, and about their true right to power. Kuini had decided that the death of Tohe and Iti must have had something to do with their curses, because it surely couldn't have been her fault. None of it had ever made sense to the young pup, but it didn’t stop her mom from drilling the information into her mind every day and every night.
Kuini had been so focused on Teka, that she foolishly ignored her own well being. So much so that she had managed to let a simple cough turn into a horrible infection inside of her lungs. Teka’s mother would have probably continued to ignore it, but as soon as Teka developed a cough of her own she finally decided to visit an Occuli. His name had been Djekare, that much Teka could remember. He was so tall, with legs as thin as twigs. That was okay though because he was going to take care of Mother, he would make her better. Djekare had given her what he could, sent her home, and promised to visit regularly. It was dangerous to let Kuini around too many wolves because she could easily get others sick. Teka was relieved that the mysterious wolf had kept his promise, always bringing mother and her the same medicines. While sick, Kuini’s close friend, Balthazar was regularly dropping off food for them both, but it wasn’t difficult to tell Kuini’s days were limited when she could barely lift her own head.
The night before her mother passed on, Kuini had drawn Teka close and reminded her of her purpose in life. Afraid and nervous she could only muster a weak nod of her head but… Deep down she had stored every bit of information Kuini had ever taught her. The next time Djekare came to visit, he had drawn Teka away from her mother’s lifeless body, offered her some herbs, and told her she needed to go with him.
After Kuini had received a proper Kol burial, Djekare took small Teka to Malaysia and explained everything. With Teka still sick, they had both agreed that she still needed the care of an Occuli. With Djekare being an Occuli and one of the few wolves Teka didn’t flinch from, Malaysia allowed him to become her guardian. Only time will be able to tell what kind of wolf Teka will turn into now…
