I know that most people use the art-per-month layout of displaying yearly art production but honestly I've never been fond of it. Mostly because art isn't always done on a constant basis, and some months are simply more productive than others. Some months are just sketches, or for some people maybe not even that due to other life stuff. Instead I find it much more rewarding to lump it all together and get a general overview of the year's result. If I had done the per-month version, I'd be missing like 3 of the months and it wouldn't make me feel very productive. It's much better this way =]

For mine I gathered together...most of the art from this year lol. I left out any client work and only included personal work. I took part in 2 draw-a-day month challenges (Smaugust and Inktober) but I suffered pretty bad burnout after #19 of Inktober which are the black and white ink pieces you see with the coffee stained/brown paper. I found it *so hard* to get back to working on a regular basis again after that, and really wish I had just taken the weekends off and ignored the daily part of the challenge - but only because the illustrations were so large.

This image is about 80% of the finished pieces for the year. A few watercolor pieces and a chunk of the dragon sketches are missing. Then there are tons of regular sketchbook stuff not included.

Overall it feels like a productive year! I took a record low number of commissions this year and pushed my own work - and as a result I feel like I've grown faster than I have before.

Oh, and I spent the last week or so building an OFFICIAL website! www.kamakru.com
This is the *only* place I will be offering limited edition print runs online and my shop will be moving to my new site as well.

My art path for 2017 has slowly emerged more clearly over the last couple months. I feel it's taken me years to realize where I'm trying to go, so if you feel like you're not yet sure where you're going - it's OK, just keep going! That's pretty much been my strategy so far haha
