I mean... what kid who loves cats doesn't wanna hug one?

This a gift for Foolish-Hearts to make her smile, and to say Thank You for gifting me a raffle prize.

I wanted to do something cute and happy as a pick-me-up, and got this idea and started working on it almost two weeks ago. But due to the way my life's been going, I've only been able to work on it every so often and so it wasn't getting completed fast enough. But I hope its still a nice surprise.

For those who don't recognize this adorable boy- Shade is from Digi's Elder Scrolls story! He loves to catch stray cats (and is very gentle with them when he's successful), and every so often, he has Skooma Cat (aka Sheogorath in cat form) appearing and following him around, giving him "ideas" from time to time. While I'm sure "Sheo cat" is selective about who picks him up, I would imagine that his Princess Cheese and the "small surrogate Cheese" are an exception to the rule from time to time.

I also adore Shade's cute smile- especially when hugged by his big sister . I almost never post a smile that wide from that angle so I think I did okay with drawing hints of his molars in the background (like you did)?? I also thought about both eyes being open, but I tend to close my one eye when I snuggle my cat to prevent fur from getting on my eyeball, so I figured that he would do the same. And I spent a lot of time referencing Skooma cat from the canon look in ESO and his Legends card... and then I noticed his appearance in the story makes him look less "tabby cat" and more "big grey poofy cat". Oops.   But I loved what I did for creating those tabby stripes, so I hope this is okay.   (A big poofy tail also helped me hide the fact that I was struggling to figure out bottom feet placement because I couldn't find a good reference photo of someone holding a cat from that angle with the feet showing. )

Anyway, I hope this makes you smile, Digi!   You're an amazing friend and I know I say that I am grateful for your friendship all the time, but I feel like I don't say it enough. So thank you for being my friend!
