Ah, Beckendorf x'D. I loved him, really. One of my favourite key characters in the series. I wouldn't even call him and Silena "minor" characters since their actions were pretty important for the storyline and all. And their deaths! T_T So dramatic xP

I enjoyed doing this. It's my first time to properly draw an African American and I don't know if I succeeded or if I failed...you tell me The green glowing things on his belt are Greek fire explosives. They explode if you drop them and the glass breaks. The colour/black stuff on his jeans is oil. And the Greek letter on his sword belt is an "eta"= H, the letter of his father . Btw, I imagine him to have a long, two handed blade for a sword. Would be fitting for him somehow. And yes, I'm well aware that the Greek didn't have longswords. But he's a blacksmith and he's from America, not Greece, I'm sure he could manage something like that .

In my opinion, he's drawn far too gentle and weak looking in most fanarts. Don't know if that's always part of the style or something. But when I imagine Beckendorf, I remember the above quote Percy once did. He looks tough. Very. So the scar, the muscles, the torn shirt and jeans are supposed to picture that. On the other hand, his character is rather friendly and caring. You get that by looking into his eyes- hopefully. So yes, he is gentle. But he doesn't look like it. Okay, end of rant here .
