#mermay2019

Hay guys! It's been a while ever since I posted something, wasn't it? Well I was extremely busy these days (and I still am) and so I did not have much time to think of something so...this is a very late Mermay addition for 2019. I wanted to post this before, for May but as I said...work! Too much of it! Anyway as you do expect, I hadn't posted something about my Mergon lately so I thought the occasion would be perfect to do it. If you remember the first and only, for now , Mergon character I have posted is La'ria the sweet human-friendly Mergon. (A character I had dedicated to and of course my partner

Well...it's time I showed you a male figure too, plus the other side of the coin!

So...behold! Tau'khen!

Tau'khen is probably what someone would call the "leader" of his pod. Of course as we mentioned before the Mergons are mostly loners but they would form a pod when they would have to hunt a big creature, hunt humans to the surface or other exceptional moments like that. Well, most of the time Tau'khen is their first choice for a leader form. Tau'ken is a large, handsome merman about 4-4.3 meters long (total length). He is considered handsome because of his extremely large belly fins and the bluish dots on his skin that are more colorful and more impressive than anyone else. He has long hair that are dark and iridescent with green glow, like most of Mergons and he also has a good-shaped beard. He often finishes his appearance with jewels he makes from seashells and other things he finds to the bottom of the lakes.Tau'khen has the most females than anyone around his area in his cave. He is "married" to at least 10 females at the same time and usually manages to win them again and again with every mating season. He has been trying to get to La'ria but he never managed to get her attention.

Unlike her, Tau'khen is a notorious hunter of human flesh and he might consume it when he finds the chance. He also hates human invadors and that's another reason why he hates Aldarn to the guts and he would do anything to kill him (especially after he sees the mutual love blooming between him and the female he wants so much to conquer).

Generally speaking, his personality is typical for a Mergon; he hunts for survival and for pleasure, he enjoys relaxing underwater under the sun but he also loves dipping into the chaotic depths of his lakes. Apparently he doesn't have the same Emotional Intelligence (EQ) like La'ria for he appears to be acting more out of instinct and less out of emotion, like it happens to the majority of Mergons. In the past he served under Phobos's orders and he somehow feels nostalgic of those times, wishing for Phobos's tyranny to return one day so he can have back the priviledges he had. Generally speaking Tau'khen is an easy to understand and more physical being but at the same time explosive and unpredictable like a shark. He is considered of being fearless and merciless to his enemies. He is persistent and stubborn and he refuses to give up on trying to conquer La'ria at every mating season, being positive in mind that La'ria one day will give in his charms.

He is very skillfull with weapons such as the spear or the whip. His favorite is definitely the spear but as well his bare claws and fangs.

Okay that's it for now I think. I cannot say more because it would spoil the whole story behind it however I assure you that Tau'khen will play a great part on that chapter of that story that includes mainly Aldarn's and La'ria's time together ! Okay some Trivia on this character:

His personality traits were partly inspired by Tsu'tay of James Cameron's Avatar but he is far different too, since Tau'khen is mostly a more "animalestic" version, since Mergons tend to be more like marine mammals and less than humans

His name is pronounced "taʊ'khɛn̩" with the "h" pronounced (unlike the usual english transcription that often reads "kh" as thick "k", here is mostly like arabic and ancient egyptian languages where the "h" is pronounced)

His right ear has a small hole, reminiscent of old fights or some old hunt

His cave is the biggest than any other Mergon of his area in order to host his multiple mates and their offsprings.

Mergon Trivia

Mergons by nature have no names to call each other apart with the classical meaning we think. Underwater they communicate like the dolphins do, so they do have "names" for each other but their names are unpronouncable in human language, since they are a sequel of clicks or other type of underwater sound. The names they use when they speak human words are nothing else but a "translation" of those underwater sounds, a form of "code" so they can be distinguished outside water.

Like sharks, Mergons can replace their lost teeth till they reach the age when they stop reproducing. When a tooth is broken off place, a new one will emerge a few days after. Only when a Mergon becomes too old to reproduce, then all the other body functions become gradually useless and the ability to grow teeth stops by that time.

Mergons have no real funerals. Usually they will simply cover the dead body with rocks if it is needed, so the decomposition will not disturb their senses underwater. The dead bodies serve as nutrients to other sea creatures.

It has also been observed that sometimes one very old Mergon, following some inner instinct, moves to some deep trench and falls in it as it dies. This behavior of lonely deaths is not overly common but it has happened a lot, forming certain forms of "graveyards" to bottoms of large trenches.

Like it was mentioned before, the Mergons do not produce any particular form of culture so their...observation of their bahavior would be like observing sea creatures.

Some Mergons have more complex emotional world than others, like La'ria for example, which allows them to act more out of emotion and thought rather than of instinct.

Of course that doesn't mean that Mergons are stupid. It is just that their nature is somewhere in-between human intelligence and animalestic instincts.

Alright people, that's it for today! I hope you like it! Please write me your opinions to your comments below and of course feel free to tell me your suggestions or ideas as well. Thanks Aibou. Well it is not entirely an "inspiration" as much of a reference, to be honest. Is like bringing him as an example to make more people understand what I am talking about since they are a tad different from each other.

Yeah they don't really have funerals. It is most likely the natural inhabitant of theirs that is the "grave".

In sea or in nature in general, nothing goes to waste. Ever.

You're welcome, Yami. I see "Avatar" is still a movie I need to see. My dad and brother continue to tell me how great that movie is. That and there are quite a few people who are familiar with that movie, so that is why they would probably know what you mean.

That is something that is wonderful about nature in how nothing goes to waste.

Indeed. I think it indeed has been three years. I tried to reach you with the messenger but you are never in since you are not used to it yet. Maybe one day we can talk with the skype now that I am back to Greece.

I miss you too. Really.

What messenger are you talking about? We could, but unfortunately I don't use Skype anymore. Most people like myself use a messenger program called "Discord". It is a lot better then Skype. At least that is what I think. That would be a great idea. After all with my new job I now have weekends off. Lots of people who usually want to talk to me would want to do it on the weekend. However with my previous job I couldn't do that, since I worked on the weekends. Although now I can, because I only work during the week (Monday - Wednesday to be exact).

Glad to hear that.

There is only one Messenger, Aibou. Messenger from facebook of course. It is one of the easiest and quickest applications for direct messages in real time.

Never heard of that program.

I see. So your scedhule is mostly half of the week.

O that. >_< I don't go on Facebook all that often, but I can if you want to talk. After all I'm mostly just going to be watching anime for the rest of the night once I finish cleaning out my inbox on dA here. It is a program that lots of gamers tend to use, but also people who aren't gamers. You hardly come across people these days who still use Skype. I'm free Thursday afternoons, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The only times I'm not free on Sundays is if I am doing something with my friends. Every other Sunday I do something with my friends. Luckily this Sunday I don't have to, because I did last Sunday. Pretty just ask me if it is the Sunday that I will be doing something with my friends I will tell you.

I see. In my country we use skype even now a lot.

I see. Okay then we'll see. Tell me one of these days then while I am waiting for the post-graduate studies to come.

Glad you remember.

Interesting and I guess there are some countries that still use Skype quite a bit still. Sure and I guess if I happen to be on Facebook when you are we can talk more. By the time I tell you here on dA either you and I may not be on Facebook to message, so I guess we will just have to find a time when we are both on to talk. I see and when your post-graduate studies happen I hope you do well. Didn't realize that you were still doing more studying.

I personally never heard that it was not used anymore so I guess it's more than just "some" countries.
Indeed. I suppose so. These days I am technically free because I am still waiting for the papers to be emailed to me! Dang! If I knew they would take so long to give me my petition I would have...booked a ticket and come to you for halloween!
Hey maybe we could arrange it for next year! Hehehe and maybe just maybe I can return the favor of your hospitality by booking a trip within America for us to go since for you to come in Greece is more complicated with your mom and everything

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MutouYuugiAiboufan In reply to katerinaaqu [2019-10-05 02:35:25 +0000 UTC]

I guess so. For me it is probably, because I don't really hear people talk about Skype these days, so I tend to forget it exist sometimes.

Really? That would've been awesome...granted I would've had to figure out how to work my budget if you were coming, but still it would've been worth it. It's not every day that you come to visit type thing. You know what I mean? Plus you would enjoy it, since some of the houses where I live are starting to have Halloween decorations up. That and it isn't as chilly right now in October up here where I live.

That is a excellent idea. Actually I have a better idea...one that will allow you to still enjoy Hallloween like stuff. There is a local anime convention that happens in my state here in America during October every year. Maybe you could come up during that time. I'm sure you would enjoy it, because the people are really friendly and some of my friends that you met when you were here last time in America go to that convention, so aside from me you would have some other people who would be going that you would know. If not then we can stick with you coming up during Halloween.

Yes that and the amount of money for it is something I don't have a lot of right now. Plus my Mom is busy with lots of other things these days that worry about a trip to Greece with her daughter is the least of her worries...not to be rude to you.

katerinaaqu In reply to MutouYuugiAiboufan [2019-10-06 10:11:42 +0000 UTC]

I see what you mean! It is indeed understandable even if I am kind of surprised to hear that someone is not using Skype anymore!

Oh please, don't I would figure out mine. I want to be of help this time, if I am to come I want to do everything, buy you stuff and everything or even book tickets for another town/city or even state Like that you can have nice vacation, I can repay my dept and we both will get to see another city too! I would have to work on my budget of course but I do not wish to be a burden. Of course I know what you mean. But I also want to be of assistance.

Well depends what it's "chilly" for you guys! Remember I come from Mediterrannean! The chilliest it usually gets is 0 to -3 Celcious in my city (with some exceptions from time to time!)

Really? Interesting. When in October, though? So I will plan things through. It is because my university at post-graduate studies will include my thesis next year so I think I will have no lessons to attend to, just to gather info, so I could allow myself a few weeks of vacation before returning to my studies and perhaps, why not, search material in America as well (books, museums etc)

I know. Besides you must really want it to do it. I mean I do understand if you don't really feel like doing it. It is a big step after all and if I remember correctly, you have never traveled outside America before. It is a big change. My country is to the final spot of Europe after all.

Irrelevant to that, you have mentioned cosplay and I just found this swesome sword from one of the animes I have watched www.swordsaxe.com/blood-anime-… and the price is not THAT bad either, judging from the usual prices you get for cosplay stuff but the usual problems...rarely ever people ship to Greece! That little country to the other side of Europe! Hahahahahaha!

I bet you are making your Yugi cosplay better, right? Plus the other cosplays you had been working on!

I guess it is just that people don't like Skype as much anymore.

Really? That is so nice of you. Going to another state is quite a bit. Of course it depends on where you want to go in terms of city and state. Even depending on how far you have to travel from the state and city you currently live in. I have done quite a bit of traveling in different places in the US and it isn't always cheap. Of course things like day trips aren't always so bad in terms of money. You weren't a burden and don't think that you were. My family and even my friends that you met really enjoyed your company and getting to meet you. It's not every day that someone in my family gets to met someone from a different country these days. You certainly were quite a help when it came to helping me clean up during Christmas dinner, so don't think you owe me anything. However if you still feel that you need to I won't stop you.

Well in October usually it tends to be low 60s to 50 and sometimes even 40s. It isn't that chilly in October usually.

I don't know exactly. What I can do is ask the staff at the convention this year and see if they know what the dates are for the convention next year. If not then I will get back to you in terms of the dates for this convention. I thought that since things like anime conventions probably don't happen in Greece and you want to come in October this could be a great chance for you to attend one. Plus I go to conventions here in America twice a year now. Once in October for the local anime convention and now since I went to the convention this year...I will be going to an anime convention in Boston, MA every year moving forward. There are two books that I saw here at my Grandma's that if you are coming and want them I can put them aside. They looked like books that might be helpful. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but maybe they will help. That and you can see if we can go to that book store that Robert took you to, since that could also help you with getting search materials.

Yep and I have only traveled to Canada. Besides that the only other places I have traveled is within the US.

Wow that is amazing. It really does look like Kaya's sword. I have been into cosplay for long enough now to know that is an amazing sword. Although if it were going to be a prop for a cosplay at a convention I don't know if it would pass secruity, since it looks like it has a real blade. Although it would be a nice item to have if you enjoy Blood-C and Kaya. Yeah and I guess that is what happens when trying to get things like that to a place like Greece.

Ummmm...the thing is I haven't really done any Yu-Gi-Oh! cosplays lately. The last time I did one was last year. I mean I have worn some of them this year, so that I could get pictures, because aside from during conventions when I wore them I didn't have any other pictures. Actually I have done some cosplays from other fandoms this year and I even talked about some of them in a recent journal. I hope to post pictures of my cosplays from pasts years that I haven't posted pictures of and my ones from this year. Actually I just took pictures yesterday with one of my lastest cosplays. I even know which cosplays I would like to do next year (It's not a bad thing that I know, since I have that convention in Boston I mentioned above that I am going to. Although, since it is in the spring I want to get going with my cosplay late December early January.)

Here are pictures of the characters I did cosplays for this year and the anime or video game they come from:

- Joker (AKA the Main Protagonist from the Persona 5 game): Joker Phantom Thief
- Akira Kurusu (AKA the Main Protagonist from the Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight game): Akira Dancing in Starlight
- Goro Akechi (In his Black Mask outfit from the Persona 5 game. There isn't an official artwork for this, so I found a fanart that works just as well):  i.pinimg.com/originals/93/44/a…
(Here is a picture of him with the mask on in the anime based on this game):  i.ytimg.com/vi/KtxTgcGqjlo/max…
- Kaitou Joker from the Mysterious Joker anime:  i.pinimg.com/originals/cd/44/8…

Here are pictures of the characters I plan to do cosplays for next and the anime or video game they come from:

- Julius Kingsley from the Akito the Exiled OVA series, which is apart of the Code Geass anime:  vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/co…
- Zero (AKA Lelouch Lamperouge's masked vilante outfit from the Code Geass anime):  vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/co…
(Here is a picture of him with the mask off):  vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/co…
- Emperor Lelouch vi Britannia (Lelouch as Emperor from the Code Geass anime):  ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1DIQ9PFX…
(Here is what he looks like in the anime...I had a hard time finding a good full body picture of him in the anime):  vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/co…

The thing is that everyone uses it where I am.

Of course it depends. I know that prices go high and low depending on where you go and of course the longer the trip the more you pay to tickets (and from what I get you always need an airoplane to go there!).

Hehehe well true you don't always get another visitor from another country yet alone another condtinent that's true but still you paid for many things for me and for sure having a new person out of nowhere of course leads to a form of anxiety of how to welcome them or showing them stuff... In any case I am glad you did enjoy it. I wish I could do more for your family though. Well...there was no way I wouldn't at least help in the kitchen. I must do my share like a good freeloader after all! Well whenever I can of course I want to help or doing stuff.

In any case I don't have something particular in mind. Any new thing I see makes me content. I mean sure I have some places I'd love to see like New York or even Washington I heard so much about but at the same time anything sounds great. Even Boston that you mentioned before sounds like an amazing city to explore. Anything in general would work for me since I have never seen your country apart from your town and those villages your family was so kind to show me .

Hmm from what I get it is 15, 10 or even 4 digrees celcious! Girl, this is what we have in winter here! For instance now we have about 25 celcious and that is 77 grades to you! Okay thes days it has been warmer than the past years but I do remember even 15 years ago to have 4 (or 40 at fahrenheit) when it was end of November or the middle December! In here I still wear sandals! And it's almost Halloween!

I see. Yes indeed sounds like a plan. Besides I am not sure if my presense is needed in university next year. This year I am going to the island where my masters/magistral university is next week (1st November) and I have to go there two more times for winter semester, three for spring and then two times for exams (one week for winter semster and one week for spring/summer semster). Next year I'll have to work for one month in practical excersize for my magistral digree and then I have to write my essey for my digree but apart from that I don't know if I will have to be at university next year or not. I guess I'll find out this year and I will tell ya. I think that in any case I will be able to be free by the middle to end October and even if I will need to be there, I think I can rest assured that it won't be till the beginning of November anyway. Till then I hope to get more money from a job or anything.

Hmm there was a comic/anime convention only once or twice as far as I remember but in any case those things happen in capital and not in my city. In my city sometimes some bars I heard they do make some unofficial gatherings for anime and comics (like the card-selling shops I mentioned you before) but I have never been in one of them to confirm you that.

Sounds like a nice schedhule for you, to see Boston and the anime convention every year.

Those sound really beautiful! You know I love books. But I really don't want to take them from your grandmother... Indeed sounds great. I still have that paper bag from that old bookstore by the way And the books I purchased from it.

I see. I have never been to Canada either but I had talked with a couple that is from Canada during my trip to Africa to see my friend. In general I am really happy I got to see places outside my country (Europe) but also outside my continent (America, Africa). Unfortunately I cannot do that every year for echonomical reasons, or else I would be like those crazy guys that go on a trip every now or so!

Kaya? I think you mean Saya right? Yeah it is Saya's sword but not from Blood-C. It is from Blood+, another part of Blood franchise. It has a unique shape indeed. Yeah indeed I doubt it would pass indeed. It is a real blade but not sharpened but I do understand what you mean. If it is real metal blade it will get stuck in security. Indeed when it comes into mailing in Greece there are the customs that don't allow items that are considered weapons to pass. Remember what we were discussing in Yin's store. They do not allow them to pass the customs and the security. Therefore very few sites do ship in Greece. On the other hand theoretically you can put anything you want in your big suitcase occasionally they even passed real weapons that way but I don't want to risc it!

Yeah I do remember those cosplays when you mentioned them. Yes of course I know Zero. I have watched the anime as for the other characters I do remember them from your journals.

I see and I guess that means Skype is more popular over there and Discord is more popular over here.

Although it depends, because if you have welcomed people in these kinds of situations before then it isn't so hard to do. Well if you are looking for something to do while you are here in terms of helping I might have us stay at my Grandma's house a few days. We can cook dinner one of the nights we are there, since I usually take my turn with cooking dinner when I visit my Grandma. If it is during the week then it is just my Grandma and I eating. However if it is the weekend then the oldest of my two brothers eats dinner with us too. We can even visit my parents one of the days we are at my Grandma's house, since my parents now don't live far from my Grandma's house. I'm sure they would enjoy seeing you again.

We could do that, but ummm...I will have to think about it, since those are day trips that we could do and with most of the people who drive me around being busy during the week and what not we would need to take buses and what not to get to where we need to go. Which can mean things can start adding up in terms of money, but that doesn't mean we can't do something like that.

Wow that is quite the change in weather compared to us.

Crazy that you still have so much that you need to get done. I see and wasn't sure about if you had a local convention for anime that you could go to in Greece, since some people I have talked to here on dA don't really have a convention close by or in their country that they can go to. In that case I will see if you can go to this local anime convention I go to here in my state when you come. If not then that is fine.

Indeed and since I love that convention, so much that is why I want to continue going to it year after year. It's fine, since my Grandma is trying to sell those books along with a bunch of other books that she doesn't want, so if you want them you can take them when you get here. If you don't want them then my Grandma is going to sell them another way.

I see. That and it costs lots of money to go on a trip like that.

Yes I meant Saya. >_< O I didn't realize her weapon looks a bit different in Blood-C then it does in Blood+. That and security at conventions don't want stuff like that in a convention, because it could be a danger to other people at the convention. Yep I remember what you said about customs and weapons when we were looking at those weapons at Yin's.

Glad that you do. O really? I have only been into the Code Geass franchise for a little over a month and I love it a lot. Lelouch is actually my favorite character from the franchise, but then again I tend to love the main characters for a franchise most of the time. ^_^

Most likely yes.

Sounds like a plan. Or even buy the extra food that is needed for an extra person in the house. It is good that you help her She is such a kind lady and she surely was a nice cook from what I remember. I would be delighted to see them again and I sincerely hope you are right and that they would want to see me again

I see what you mean. Yes of course something could work out but I don't want to get you out of your schedule just for me. In any case just seeing something new, even if for a second is a nice experience to me. I mean I saw Porto in three days lone and London in 2 with a friend the best I could running up and down the city. I am into sightseeing and everything but at the same time I understand that not all people are like that plus it is not always possible to spend multiple days somewhere.

Indeed even if there was quite warmer weather this year than other times it is still quite different from what you are used to isn't it?

Oh I am just getting started! Believe me! XD If I am to continue further that is, I will have my PhD next and THAT is gonna be the real challenge!

In any case there isn't something official in my city, not that I know of. There are some gatherings happening from time to time to our capital. Of course that sounds like fun

I see. Yes I do understand. I can see why you like it so much.

Oh really? That's a relief. In any case I could even buy them from her if indeed I could. In any case I am not sure what kind of books we're talking about but I bet they are interesting.

Especially from my country. I bet there are better prices from certain places from your country but from mine there are no direct flights over the oceans and I have to change flights and that always makes cost rise up.

It is totally different. In Blood-C the sword is straight-blade. A normal katana sword. In Blood+ it has this lightning shape. It is because in Blood+ Saya is using her blood to kill the monsters and so she cuts her finger or hand to the upper part of the blade and her blood gets channeled through "veins" inside the sword so it reaches the blade and every time she cuts a monster, her blood passes through its wound, making its blood crystalize instantly and so die

www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXh8Lx…

Well to me it was indeed exciting here and there and very interesting but it also strongly reminded me of Death Note, which I loved much more in terms of suspence so probably that was the reason I didn't fall over the heels with it but it was indeed really exciting in terms of plotting.

Indeed I noticed that

That could work too. I mean my Grandma buys lots of food even though there is usually only three of us at her place. My Grandma is one of the best cooks I know. I know that they would want to see you again. After all when I told my Mom that you might be coming next year she got excited.

Like I said we will see, but glad that you are understanding and I'm sure there are things you can see that you haven't seen before. That and I have made more friends since I last saw you. We can always hang out with some of them while you are here. That and the friends of mine that you couldn't meet last time you can try meeting this time.

I would say yes it is quite different.

O wow I didn't realize you were going for your PhD. 0_0 Good luck with that. I'm sure like you said it will be quite the challenge, but well worth it. I see and that is why going to this anime convention that is local for me could be fun for you. A new experience that I am sure you will love. That and you will get to see me in cosplay in person. After all I cosplay at conventions all the time now. People hardly ever get to see me outside of cosplays for a convention.

Yep and everyone here in my country who goes to conventions yearly has a convention or two that they love going to year after year. Sure and I'm sure that you could work something out with her in terms of buying them from her. In the mean time I will keep the books safe until you get here. I don't know much of what you are looking for when it comes to source materials, but hopefully these will help.

It depends I would say here in my country. My parents know more about that stuff, since both of them have traveled outside of my country before.

Wow that was quite a great video and I see what you meant about the blood crystallizing.

Trust me...lots of people compare Code Geass to Death Note, because Lelouch Lamperouge is a lot like Light Yagami. Althought each anime has it's own charm I would say. For me...while I enjoyed Death Note a lot I would say that I love Code Geass more.

Ah that's great to hear and yes I would love to be of some assistance there.

Oh that is so sweet of hers that she is excited at this idea! I am too since it's been a long time ever since we met and talked.

Indeed. Of course as you know I would love to see other places like New York or even Washington or even Boston sounds like a great place to see with many things to do etc but of course I do not wish to be a burden and make you do something that was not in your plans to do. Besides in the worst occasion I would try to go and then you would arrive to meet me there or something.

Really? Good for you, Aibou and yes I am sure they sound like really good people.

Yeah I am not entirely sure if I will go for a PhD yet but I think I will. For now I am doing my magistral/post-graduate studies/master before seeing what I will do with the PhD. (Hehehehehe! Can you imagine me signing with the Dr. title in four years?! )

Yes it is a big challenge and yes it will be difficult I have no doubt but at the same time I think it will be interesting and of course it will be worth it.

Hehehehehehe! Indeed. I personally never have cosplayed before. Maybe I would have to book a costume because probably Cosplays will be costly to buy, if I were to accompany you in an actual cosplay of course.

I am not particularly looking for something specific. It is because you said I would enjoy them and so I asked you what they are about.

Yes I see what you mean but my country is a bit strict in certain matters and in others they are completely loose! Sometimes you don't take risks so that you won't find yourself in unneeded trouble!

Yeah it is and the anime is awesome. And by the way this anime's music producer is Hans Zimmer himself! And the composer is no other than Marc Mancina (the guy who made music for Disney countless times like Tarzan for example)

Well Code Geass came after Death Note, if I am not mistaken but he also has some similar mannerisms. Death Note was far more exciting for me to watch because even if it did have some supernatural themes in it, it still happened in our world in a way that makes you feel as if the guy who has a Death Note hides to the appartment next to you and you don't know it! Of course I know both have their own good and bad things in them. Code Geass sounded a bit overdone to me, even if it had one of the greatest plot twists in the end (unfortunately they are planning to continue it!) but still certain things seemed to be over-pulled here and there. And of course I haven't seen many animes that can beat Death Note epic ecclesian-like music!

I am sure that you can be. Yep, since my parents enjoyed when you were here last time.

Boston and New York city are fun places to visit, but can be quite a bit of money. Since I need to make sure that I have enough money for when you come and the convention I will be doing in October I wouldn't be able to go outside of my state, since it would be quite a bit of money. That and I am already going to a convention in Boston in April of next year. *Hits at some journals she wrote talking about that convention.* That way by hanging out with a lot of my different friends when you are here you'll be able to experience lots of different things with them and meet lots of different people and reconnect with some from last time.

O I didn't know you weren't sure about doing it. What you decide to do I'm sure it will be great.

Really? O believe me it is tons of fun. I love being another character for a convention. It's actually how I have met just about all of my friends. Now that I cosplay all the time at conventions I don't want to stop cosplaying when I go to conventions. I have already in a previous reply showed you what I will be cosplaying next year. Hmmmm...it depends what character you want to do, what outfit if the character has multi outfits, and how much you are willing to pay.

I see...ummmm...I remember one of them in related to Egypt. I will have to check out what the other one is about.

Some risks aren't worth taking.

I am sure it is a good one.

Actually from what I have heard Code Geass came about the same time as Death Note. That is a feeling that I got from Light Yagami in Death Note. Although in Code Geass that is similar to what happened if we are talking about that concept. Granted it may not give you the same feeling for that concept as it does me, but I believe it does. I can understand, because it isn't for everyone. Although I love these things about it. I know which plot twist you are talking about. That was such a well done plot twist that I have never cried for something that could be so emotional to me in an anime then when that plot twist in the end of Code Geass happened. Had to collect myself after it. To me it showed that the experience I had just had was one of the best ever for an anime. I mean they have continued it and are going to keep continuing it. Actually this weekend at a convention in New York some of the people who worked on the anime are going to talk about future plans for the series. I actually love that they are continuing, because I believe that there is still a chance for them to do more and make it work. I mean every anime has it's ups and downs. It is good, but I love the music a lot in Code Geass.

That's sweet. I am glad I wasn't much of trouble to you guys.

I know. Like I said you don't need to think about it that much. Besides remember when my debit card wasn't working? Apparently I need to just tell my bank here where I am going and for how long so my card will work so, don't worry about it too much. Like I said I'd love to visit another city just for the funs of it but that doesn't mean you to feel like obliged to be there with me. I mean in the worst occasion I might visit there alone for a couple of days before or after I visited you or at best, I find a job and somehow manage to arrange something there for us together (which is probably hard because I am already too busy with the university to get a job but it is set to my priorities at least for this summer I think about working at a hotel one of my classmates has. I will see if it will work out in the end and after that I'll see what I can do about it.)

Anyway like I said I do appreciate it but don't worry. It is my dream to see that city so I think I will do my best to achieve it. It doesn't necessarily have to be next year or anything but we will see. You don't need to worry about it too much. Besides I will be there too and this time I won't be a burden to you. I'll try, I promise.

Anyway it is not even certain that I will be free next year for Halloween (I hope I will be of course and if I am be sure that I might...drop by to bug you again! I also missed you for so many years we haven't talked after all. I don't know of that other program you told me about to communicate but perhaps I will try to get a new laptop that probably can take more programs in it, not sure, quite honest...I haven't used any other media but Facebook and Skype in my life for face-to-face communication).

Sorry getting off the point. Anyway no need to start calculating or anything. Honestly.

I think I have almost made up my mind since there is not much I can do with archeology here apart from academic career. Things are a bit tight in my country so whether I become a university professor or not, I still need a PhD just to make sure I have everything I need. I mean there are freaking PhD people in my class in the magistral! That means that sometimes even a PhD is not enough. I don't know but I think I am almost completely sure that I will have to get one. The problem is that I am not sure how I proceed yet. I think I will ask my Egyptology professor for some extra advice. For sure it's a lot of work and it will probably cost me a lot of money but I think it will pay off.

Of course. Where could I cosplay at? There are no actual conventions in my city (I would have to go to Athens for one and I cannot afford trips there all the time, especially now that I am paying for my Magistral as well and I even decided to make a gift for my parents and buy them tickets for Paris. It was my mom's wish to get there so I bought them for before Christmas and that was also kinda costly to me, plus I need to pay my tickets for the island where I will be going every month for stodies and the hotel I will live in). So yeah sorry You get my point. I never had much time to think of even buying cosplay material (that is too expensive in my country anyway). For example to buy a tiny Alastor pendant replica (which was not even THAT good quality to begin with) I paid 7 euros which must be around 7.3 to 7.5 dollars for a three cm replica pendant. It was heck expensive. Even my Yu-Gi-Oh cards are expensive when I used to buy them. Remember I mentioned that. Generally speaking the comic or cosplay material is super expensive in Greece so yes I never had the chance of cosplaying before.

I know what you mean. To be honest, I am not sure. I mean sure if you were as Yugi I could get as Yami or Atem outfit or something but since you already did it I am not sure what I could go as. There are some pretty cool outfits in some of my favorite animes I could try and perhaps I should probably focus on outfits that wouldn't require too much extra material (wigs or stuff) to avoid being too costly. Honest I am not sure as what I could be. There are some pretty interesting outfits out there such as the Vampire Knight Day Class school uniform: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.co… which is very classic and elegant thing to wear. I already have knee-length shocks in my closet and I could wear simple boots like Yukki used to wear so I wouldn't need to buy much more accessories for it (of course it would be awesome if I had the Artemis staff for it ( cdn.myanimelist.net/s/common/u… which also exists in the skythe form images.squarespace-cdn.com/con… but I know this would make the cost rise too much) Technically if I wanted to cosplay a "perfect" Yukki Cross I would need also a short-hair or a long hair wig but Yukki has the same haircolor as me so...I would just have to improvise and let the length the way it is. The cute detail would be the Cross Academy pendant ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1_Q5INXX…

To be honest I never thought much about it. I mean even Shana from Shakugan no Shana sounds great but if I wanted to make it right I would DEFINITELY need a long wig and a sword and I know that swords usually are not allowed anywhere! Anyway my point is that I have never really thought about what I really really wanted to cosplay like. Perhaps Atem and Cross Academy were two of my ideas. The second one perhaps it could come cheaper as I don't need something THAT special apart from the costume itself. I am not sure of what I am willing to pay exactly because I am not sure how much such outfits usually go for. In my country they are definitely expensive and you have to order them from afar.

Really? Then it definitely sounds interesting! Anything related to Egypt or Middle Ages intersts me. Of course every civilization interests me pretty much

Well...Death Note Manga came out three years before Code Geass. Death Note premiered at December 1st 2003 while Code Geass released a manga after the anime and the anime indeed aired pretty close to Death Note but they finished at a close distance from each other (Death Note: May 15th 2006, Code Geass: July 29th 2007). Generally speaking Death Note was already published when Code Geass was firstly created but that could mean nothing or even everything. No one really knows. The characters indeed have similar aspects, so to speak.

I did enjoy the plot twist and I was happy they did decide to finish it in that way while Light Yagami's end was way different. So to speak Lelouch chose his end while Light tried to avoid it. To be honest I found Light's reaction way more human than the one of Lelouch even if it might not appear so dramatic to the audience. I personally did find it dramatic because technically Light lived in diception all his life and he had come to believe it himself and he had killed more people than he could count so eventually he just let out his true self show, the true level of corruption that occured in his soul, he let everything out for the first time and he died alone, with very few people to actually care about him and yet the anime gave him a slightly more redemptory ending than the manga. In the manga he died pleading for his life, making a final humiliation out of himself before dying with a curse in his lips. In the anime he manages to make the final desperate move to escape only to die of heart attack soon after but surrounded by light and perhaps at the only peaceful moment in his life. In a way it was very sad so to speak because it was like seeing some powerful person falling from grace as well as imagining what the people who still cared for him had to suffer afterwards.

Well I believe you already know my opinion for continuations. I thought that Code Geass ending was perfectly satisfying to me and I think they should just leave it there. I am not sure if I'll watch the second series. Maybe I will out of curiosity but I am not sure. They even plan on making a continuation out of Death Note, which most certainly don't think I'll watch. I think the ending was perfectly complete the way it was. I also read every single volume of the manga and even bought it and have it in my library. The ending was great and teaching us much so I am not sure I want to see them continuing it after ten to twelve years in an attempt that it seems to me only to get more money (like the live-action remakes Disney makes). Quite honest I am not sure what to think of them but I have seen many people being positive about these continuations. I was just never fan of sequels because they rarely ever are equal to the first idea.

Of course you weren't.

Yeah I do remember that and glad to see that you have a plan to make sure that it will work better this time. If you want to do that please let me know, because it will have to depend on if it would work out for me to go with you to another city or not. If not I am sure you can do it on your own before you are with me or after.

It's fine if you can't come next year...come when you can. As long as you tell me ahead of time I can make sure I have enough money to make it a wonderful visit. I feel like a broken record...you weren't a burden and don't think you are. Your my friend, my Yami, a person who I care for...don't think you are ever a burden.

I see and I think by asking your professor like that advice is going to be a good thing. It will probably help you down the road with your career.

It's hard for me to say about cosplays, because for me it's so easy to either get the materials to make it your self, buy items and make them the way you need them, ask a friend to make it if you can't, or order the cosplay from someone else online who can make it. I mean right now I am struggling with getting someone to make a prop I want for one of my cosplays right now. >_< Although I feel your pain. Your hair would be a good color and length for Yuuki's if you were to do her that way. Actually most people here in America who need a sword as a weapon for their cosplay get or make it as a prop. If you make it out of the right materials and to look like the sword then it can be accepted at a convention. Website online that are for cosplays make weapons for them out of material that makes it safe for conventions, since a lot if not all of them know that most people bring stuff like that to a convention for their cosplay.

O good then I am sure you will enjoy the book. I will keep that in mind then if I come across any other books.

Ok and I forgot that the anime for Death Note is inspired by the manga, since it came first. >_< It's so hard to keep track of the original source material when it comes to all of the anime I have watched and video games I have played. Since Death Note actually came first some people believe that Code Geass copied things from Death Note like it was stealing ideas from it. However I tend to disagree. Sure even I agree that both animes have a lot in common, but Death Note is unique in it's own way just like how Code Geass is.

I understand where you are coming with Light's death and yes it was quite the way to end his life. However I think Lelouch's was meant to be dramatic in a different way to prove a point to the world. After becoming the enemy of the world he felt that it was only right that he should atone for his sins by being killed by the very thing he created: Zero. It's as if he didn't only rid the world of the worst enemy they have ever had, but that he made Zero be reborn...a new being for the world to help them move forward. See Lelouch did realize what his actions had meant many times in the anime and had times where he needed others to bring him back to reality, because if not he wouldn't have been able to move forward. There is an interesting quote that I remember during one of his conversations with C.C. where Lelouch threatens her with a gun and says the following... "Yes I do." [Points gun at his head] "Until I met you, I was dead. An impotent corpse existing behind a false guise of life. A life in which I did nothing real. Day to day, I merely went through the motions of living as if I were a zombie. And I always had the feeling that I was gradually dying. If I'm condemned to go back to that, then I'd rather..." This to me showed that he really didn't care what happened to his life and never felt like it was worth anything. However people that cared about himself had to continue to make him realize that it was worth something. Although towards the end of season 2 he started to see how it felt like the whole world was abandoning him after he was abandoned by the Black Knights that he was the leader of. When C.C. said that having the power of Geass was living a life of solitude...he finally and truly realized that fully for the first time after he got betrayed by the very people who helped him rise against the Britannias. Sure he realized that his power meant living in solitude during other parts of the anime before that point. However that betrayal opened up his eyes fully to it. I'm not asking you to agree with me...just want you to see how I think about similar points related to how you see Light's death compared to how I see Lelouch's death.

Well if you have seen the two seasons of the anime (25 episodes a piece for a total of 52 episodes) that is what most people have seen. There is also an OVA series which has events that happen between the two original series of the anime. While the OVA isn't as good as the anime series I do really love one of the characters in it a ton. They have also done three recap movies which changed a few things about the series and added in some new scenes. Those movies connected with the new movie that came out this year. Actually the new Code Geass movie that came out this year actually has gone over well with fans. It's hard to find a Code Geass fan who has seen it who hates it and if they dislike the movie...it is really small things. Overall the movie was a big success. Plus there is going to be a showing of the movie at a convention in New York tomorrow. A writer for the series, character designer, and the Japanese voice actress for C.C is going to be at this convention. Although I understand how you feel about people continuing stuff like that. I actually don't mind as like as they don't tweak too many things. Of course I tend to be quite positive with continuation stuff. I mean I'm super excited for that they are going to do more for Code Geass in the future! ^_^ I also think it is, because I am a huge fan of sequels for some reason.

Well I went to a couple of trips ever since, Agola included, so I had to do it so I suppose just to be safe I'll have to do it again.

Don't be silly. Of course I'd let you know. I can't possibly organize an excurtion for two without the second person! Or even say when and where I'll be without informing you. In any case we'll see. I stil have plenty of time to plan that through.

Oh but I really want to. My problem is mainly economical since unfortunately my money is running out slowly yet steadily with everything I have to do but to be honest I'd rather have no penny and have spent them in trips than having them there and me be stuck in my house or buying only books. I mean sure I love books but at the same time I think trips are much more than only reading books.

Hehehehe! Well...no matter what though I was an extra mouth to feed and an extra person to show around and everything and I am in total dept to your parents for everything they did for me (and of course my offer stands for all of you to come over whenever you decide it -I know the difficulties of course-. Perhaps, if I have my own money by that time I could organize a general sight-seeing not only to my city but to my country's capital as well so you can see the Parthenon and even the Delphi www.planetware.com/photos-larg… of course depending on the time you'll have! )

Well I'll have no choice. I am not sure how I have to proceed so I will need that piece of advice

Yes I see what you mean. In my country you only can order them online, basically. From what I see, this is the most complete cosplay set for Cross Academy I have ever seen! www.aliexpress.com/item/327276… It has everything from the clothes till details such as the bracelet and the necklace! It is rather pricy and much more to be shipped in my country! I think the shipping in US is cheaper but in my country it is damn expensive!

I see what you mean by the swords and everything. To be honest if I am to hold a sword I'd love to hold an actual sword! So no worries I am aware that one cannot simply walk around with a weapon

No need to worry too much about it! But I do appreciate it!

Well like I said the fact that Code Geass came after and has so many similarities it could mean everything or nothing. Besides many people use ideas from others like that. I mean freaking James Cameron practically copied certain concepts from a previous Titanic Movie (A Night to Remember) fro 1950s and his Avatar movie, he confessed it himself, was inspired by Disney Pocahontas so it could mean that Code Geass creators did use Light Yagami as their inspiration or not and it is just a coincidence.

Of course it was different from point of view. I am just saying that Light's death seemed much more realistic to me. That's all.

I believe I remember that scene. I think though that it is unclear if he was 100% serious because he wanted to escape C.C by...taking himself hostege. I am not sure if he was indeed serious about everything he said but it could be true after all. Someone who is THAT desperate could mean he has no value for his life (even if later on he shows otherwise when he does everything he can to stay alive). Well in reality he had dug his own grave too because he did see the mistakes he had done and many people of those who abandoned him, were those who felt disappointed. In a way Light suffers this form of loneliness too but in a different way. He does because he chose to be alone, because he looked down on everyone else and when he finally found himself at time of need and his ONLY ally had been out of the game, he went on "crazy" by pouring all his feelings out and finally he was technically nearly killed by the rage of one of his own people and he too realized how fragile and yet precious life was but it was too late for him. I see your point in that. It could be possible but yeah at this moment we see many similarities but one basic difference apart from HOW they die; it is the fact that Lelouch burries everything inside, while Light lets everything ho the final moment.

I did hear of the OVA but I heard bad critiques about it and I haven't seen it yet.

I see. Well in any case usually I am not fan of the overly-done stuff like sequels and everything because they are rarely ever as good as the original or the movies. One exception was the Yugioh movies (the two of them) but I was confirmed with the last one because of the patterns of it. The visuals were great but the plot was like ignoring the very ethical message the end of the series had gotten; that Yugi had fought with himself and was a winner. So yeah but you know the story already. Anyway I have seen many things working out like that. Sometimes they even get great amounts of money but I personally am not so warm with the sequels especially when they come out of nowhere after nearly 20 years.

True...I mean I know that you would let me know, but I would just like to know, so that I can take time off from work if I have to.

Yeah...not having money to do a trip can be hard.

I understand and if it comes to that then sure. It's just, since I have only a part time job and with the way I spent and save my money it is hard for me to afford a trip outside my country for me right now.

I have heard of that website. Not sure about how the cosplays are from them, since I order from a different website. The shipping is quite a bit to get it to the US, but yeah I can understand if it is more for your country. Holding the actually thing makes you feel like you are the character. Although most people here in my country are used to having prop weapons and other props for a cosplay for a convention.

Interesting and I didn't know that about James Cameron's Avatar movie. Also something I found on a website about what Lelouch's character is based on: "Lelouch's character is based on Kamui Shirou  from Clamp Series X-1999  whom Code Geass is said to be its source for the story and characters. Also Lelouch's character design resembles Kamui from both X and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles  . Lelouch and Kamui have whats in common: both are gifted supernatural users who holds the fate of civilization in their hands by leading a war for Earth. But at the same time they must suffer hardships and deaths especially when they protect their loved ones." Although what you say could be true I found this info I found quite interesting.

Glad you understand where I am coming from. O Lelouch was serious...the way he is saying it and what he said really shows that he is. True, however I believe that he wanted to keep him self alive, because he found a reason to live. His sister Nunnally gave him a reason to live by telling him that she wanted a gentler world. This worked quite well for him, because he wanted to get rid of the Britannians, so when he was trying to stay alive it was, because he hadn't achieved her dream of a gentler world yet.

The OVA it's self may have been bad, but the characters is something that people really seem to enjoy from. I see where you are coming when it comes to sequels and other things. I think it is, because they feel there could be more and they want to make sure it is great and that is why sometimes it takes a long time to get something like that to us. I think fans experience and if they enjoyed it can also show if the movie or what not did a good job.

I know. I was only teasing here

Yeah but as I said I prefer to spend my money on traveling first than anything else!

I know. We've been through this before. I am not telling you to come. I said IF you wish to come and I was mentioning your whole family if they wish to but as I said I am only giving ideas.

Really? What webside do you usually use?

This one seems to have an awesome variety of stuff there! I also found a kimono worn in Shakugan no Shana, remember? www.aliexpress.com/item/329961… and the price of course is much more reasonable.

Yeah and the cosplay itself is rather pricy. Not TOO expensive for cosplay but pricy. But that is because this one is a full package. If someone takes only the school uniform it will get a lower price. I also noticed that depending on the item the shipping is not so high in other cases.

Yeah it does help and then you can keep it as a decoration too but yeah I know what you mean. I like stuff the most accurate they are the better if you get my meaning

Yeah.

I see. I am not surprised. Ideas do travel around after all.

Well I wouldn't be 100% sure of that since he was proven to be an expert at lying also Light had similar moments like that when he seemed ready to do ANYTHING but he also had a backup plan. That's why I do have some second thoughts. It is possible that he was serious but I remember that the first impression I had from that scene when I firstly saw it was that he wanted to tick her for that. He didn't seem ready to throw his life away. Nunnaly had wished for that but he too had his ambitions long before that. Also when he ordered Suzaku to "live" so he would escape with his life too, showed how concerned he was about his own safety too. That's why I have second thoughts about it.

Well there always are people who enjoy something. I suppose I haven't seen it yet because the two seasons of the series seemed enough for me, I am not sure. Well somehow I doubt that. By experience I noticed that when someone wants to do a sequel, either ends a series with a "maybe" result or does seem to be ready to make changes. But here the ending seemed to be making perfect sense and be complete like it happened with Death Note so the fact that I see a sequel good 14 years later, it means to me that they suddenly wish for more money or something. Of course that could be far the case but I can't stop thinking about it.

I understand, since traveling can bring such a great experience for someone.

It's fine and I understand, since I don't know what is going to be happening in my life years down the road it will depend if and when it happens.

I believe I remember seeing Shana wear that kimono. That looks like a nice one. I've also heard of the site that you showed me this link from. In terms of sites some times I do ebay.com, a bit of amazon.com, and another site I have used is this one...

www.ezcosplay.com/

Mostly gotten props from them, since getting someone to make props for the cosplays I like is hard some times. I understand, because sometimes I end up spending more money then I should on a cosplay, so that it can be close to the character.

Lying was something Lelouch had to do to keep his secret life as Zero a...well secret. Sure he could've found a way around it, but seem like that wasn't going to happen. True, but as the world around Lelouch changed and reacted to his rebellion I think that he had to change some of his tactics to fit each situation.

I guess it is all in that each person has different tastes. It's fine if you enjoy just the two seasons of Code Geass. There are some who only enjoy the two seasons like you. I'm just some one who wants to explore what ever they throw at us next for the Code Geass franchise.

Yeah

Well obviously no one can know. Not even what the next day brings, yet alone years after.

Yeah it was the summer festival scene, when she wanted to wear a yukata to impress Yuji but it didn't work out.

I see. This site looks good too but I thnk it is more expensive than the other one, isn't it?

Yeah it can take a lot of money for no reason, I mean for some reason they put too high prices on Cosplays just because they are cosplay and not for any other reason since if you go to buy a simple costume it will cost you less than half the money. Anyway it is not a great necessity for me to be dressed at all (even if I love getting dressed up) but if I were to wear a costume I could also improvise in order to cut the expenses. I mean, for example I do have an amazing pair of boots with trooks that I bought years ago just because they reminded me a lot of Yami's shoes and I have also black pants and everything so...I could even try to...half-cosplay Yami Yugi from the dice monsters, since I do have a long-sleeved shirt but not the waistcoat but then again in the manga when Yami makes a momentary appearance, he doesn''t wear the waistcoat or I could simply wear sneakers and black pants and try to find a short-sleeved male shirt and be dressed up like Season 0 Yami while he was in the water-themed park

i.pinimg.com/originals/40/0d/0…

That would mean that I should only get a wig for it and I would be ready (of course the Puzzle would be awesome too but perhaps the cost would go too high for me, I saw the price of the replica in that site) so perhaps the wig would be enough since it is really recognizable (duh!) so I could only get that and I already have a set of playing cards for the clock solitaire (since it is hard to find a mid-90's cellphone for the anime counterpart) so yeah I do have some material for it.

Another solution would be Hermione Granger since I only need to style my hair and technically any pair of jeans and jumper would do since Hermione usually wears those stuff in the movies (and I do have the wand too) or even improvise with something darker and make a henna tattoo of the deatheaters and wear my trench-coat and some leather top or pants and be done with it. I guess I can simply improvise if I am not to buy a full cosplay.

Well of course that is not what I am saying. I am only saying that the scene at that point was more of a bluff rather than a will for Lelouch to die but then again someone can assume that the idea was somewhere in his head, since later on he tries to take that drug or something so it could be that he is self-distructive.

However Light is totally clinging to life and he does anything possible to stay alive and that is what makes him so much...approachable and unapproachable at the same time. On one hand he is totally murderous and he kills without remorse anymore, on the other hand he doesn't want to find himself in his victims' shoes. That bipolar thing was so charming and so...humaine that really caught me.

Well...indeed but by my experience on stuff it almost always happens this way; that the more they expand something the worse it becomes. I mean for example I have come to fall in love with Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles (one of them is the famous Interview with the Vampire) but I am already in the third book, Queen of the Damned and it already has lost some of its charm for me. It has become long and boring and has lost some of the original meanings by adding characters and characters that were not there at first, that do not appear in the middle of the plot but before the actual book plot starts and it is aready being tiring.

What I am saying is that by experience I tell ya at least from my point of view, anything continuing eternally eventually loses charms. But anyway of course there are exceptions to this rule.

Yeah I believe you are right. I can't remember much. I didn't finally get around to finishing that anime, but I don't remember much from it.

I know that site is more expense, but trying to find someone who can make what I am after for a cosplay some times can be a challenge. I'm a person when it comes to cosplaying where I will spend a bit more money if it means getting the cosplay just about close to how the character looks, but I do know the value of trying to save money for a cosplay. Those are all good ideas. I love Yami in Season 0. Although for me Yami looks the best in Battle City without the school jacket.

See these are all great ideas. Making a cosplay doesn't mean you have to spend tons of money. I do enjoy all of them and I know you would look great in any of them.

True it could've been, but I think he was doing that to get C.C. to see how far he was willing to go for his goal and how far he had already gone. I know the scene that you are talking about, because I just recently watched that scene in an episode with some friends. It was in one of those episodes where Lelouch doesn't want to move on and is about to give up. Then he has to have someone else snap him out of his train of thought and realize why he is doing what he is doing and that there is a bigger reason. He is about to use refrain (Which I think is some kind of drug, but I could be wrong) on himself and then Kallen stops him. He literally looks like the most lifeless being not caring if he was going to do it or not. To me episodes like that are important, because they give him a chance to step back and realize what his actions are really doing. Those things with Light are things that I can understand people enjoy about Light. Actually when it comes to Death Note, Light Yagami is my favorite character. However to me Lelouch is just...well...it's hard to explain, but I like him more then Light.

I haven't heard of those books that you are talking about. Although I can understand things losing their charm. For me I guess I always find something I enjoy about something even if they continue it. Not sure what it is, but I just find joy in things even if they continue.

Well, whenever you do is definitely worth it.

Ah yes of course I know what you mean. I mean if you have shoped from that place before and you trust it and you know that it is worth the money of course is better to give a couple of bucks more and get a good product than risk it with something else. And besides it is not like the one site has the same product 5 bucks and the other 50. The price differences are not THAT big as to say that "this one is cheap" or "that one is expensive".

The bad thing with that site is that it doesn't have any photos or anything like that on it so I cannot tell how that Yami Yugi wig looks like. They only have the figure instead of the picture of the wig. Battle City huh? The one with the school uniform pants, leather vest and everything? Yeah that sounds interesting too. The problem is that I don't have a leather vest or pants like the ones he wore in the school uniform. On the other hand if I were to purchase a normal pair of pants and a normal leather blouse, I could simply wear them in every day life too so even if I did pay a little bit more for them, I wouldn't just wear them for the cosplay so it would be worth it. The problem is that I am maniac with accurecy and I want it to be as close to the original as possible! Well of course I could always just wear one of my black cotton vests instead since it was never directly hinted that his vest was leather in the first place (in the anime maybe, in the manga they did show it was glossy). I do have an awesome pair of shoes too, as I told you. They would suit perfectly for it. Perhaps I could try finding something to cosplay that Unfortunately I don't have the Millennium Puzzle or the belts or the Duel Disc. I mean I don't think I can purchase all that for it but I guess I can find about 80% of the Cosplay (I do have shoes and I had made some belt accessory for my neck long time ago, not exactly the same as in the anime but anyway I dunno maybe close enough for comfort, I have some leather cufs I had purchased years ago, once again not perfectly the same but they'll do the job! And perhaps I could even not care much of the Puzzle, for I can name it "Ceremonial Duel Attire" up to one point since he has pretty much the same outfit in the Ceremonial duel and I could simply wear my cartouse around my neck instead )

One of my personal favorites, apart from the Dice Monsters one is the one he wore in Duelist Kingdom ms.yugipedia.com/9/9a/Yami_Yug… I really love this leather cuffed shirt but that is definitely something I can never find or afford have it made!   His Capsule Monsters attire is also interesting since it escapes the usual palette he wears since he does wear purple jacket, dark gray pants and I believe he was seen having travel, brown shoes.

We'll see. I would be honored to roleplay as Yami for the first time in my life cosplaying an anime character but we'll see.

Yes it was that scene, I believe in the second season and yes that Refrain thing was supposed to be a drug of some sort so yes maybe he does have a tendency for self-destructive stuff but like I said it is not that it makes him bad character. I just prefered Light's because everyone can relate to that, his will to be better than others but not allowing anyone to do the same thing to him. Generally speaking I feel the same many times (but then again that's why I feel like Atem in the first place!). I see what you mean, don't worry. It is not necessary for us to have exactly the same tastes (remember how not even Yugi had the same tastes as Atem! )

They are the books on which a movie was based on "Interview with the Vampire" was the name, starring Bradd Pitt and Tom Cruise and co-starring Kristen Dunst (as a child) and Antonio Banderas.

Well of course I am not saying that there is absolutely nothing to like. I am just saying that they tend to lose the point. Like it happened to the new Yu-Gi-Oh movie. Wasn't it supposed to be that Yugi can perfectly well deal with things himself? That he was finally ready to move on? Normally he shouldn't be needing the Pharaoh to save the day again but because fans wanted it, here he was again. That doesn't mean that the scene isn't pretty or that the movie was horrible. But sometimes certain elements tend to lose charm or lose point.

I meant that I finished that anime. Sorry that I said that I hadn't finished it. >_<

That is true and that is the same for any website I shop on for stuff that isn't for a cosplay.

This is the outfit of of his I'm talking about that I love the most:

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/yu…
There are some people who do a cosplay for a character, but aren't able to get everything for it, but it still looks great.

I remember you telling me you enjoyed his Duelist Kingdom outfit a lot. I do enjoy how different his Capsule Monsters outfit is. Yep he does wear those kinds of shoes.

I understand and if you can't then that is fine. You should do it if you want to and if you can.

Yep that scene is from season 2 of Code Geass. That is what I thought...it did seem like a drug. I understand if you enjoy Llight more. That is true, since that is one of the reasons I enjoy both Yuugi and Atem...they are both unique in their own ways.

Hmmm...might have to look into them. True and if done right they don't lose their charm.

I see. So you finished all seasons?

Of course I am just saying.

I know. I already told you I understand what you mean. Well like I said I know pretty much what I can purchase from non-cosplay places so I can have the clothing for later as well. What I certainly don't have is the wig, the Puzzle and the belts.

Well the Duelist Kingdom is both eccentric and somehow elegant in its way. I also like the fact that the boots he wears look like being part of the pants, since for some reason he "magically" changes from the tennis sneakers usually Yugi wears to those heeled boots. I have a pair of black boots that give the illusion of Yami's boots but they have much higher heel but I suppose it doesn't matter THAT much. What I most certainly can't find is the top and the top he wears is technically the most interesting detail to his outfit. Perhaps one day I could make it but I am not really good at tailoring! Maybe one day I could give it a try, even if I would probably have to pay lots of money for the material. Unfortunately both fake leather and much more real leather are really expensive

Yeah Capsule Monsters and Dungeon Dice Monsters were some of the most interesting ones since they look different than the usual palette and style we have. School uniform is really nice too because it is technically the easiest to find (the summer one. Like I said the only thing it needs is pants and shirt).

I want to. The problem is when and where I order the stuff I need and the stuff I obviously cannot omit if I want to be proper Yami. I mean sure I could use gel and try to style my hair like he does but it wouldn't work as well as that one and the idea of using hair dye, even if it is a temporary one, is not really appealing to me. Anyway since I notice that when odering things online deliveries to America are faster and sometimes cheaper than in Europe (and much more Greece) if I properly organize my time next year and I decide to book tickets to go there, I could give you the money and you could place the order for me so it will be there when I arrive or something. But we'll see.

I know. I told you I remember that part pretty well.

It is just that I prefer Death Note more because of the extremely dark themes in it. That's all.

Yeah but that's not all. The whole Yu-Gi-Oh anime meaning was to face yourself and surpass yourself and eventually Yugi said to have "surpassed" Atem but then in that movie we see Atem saving the day again and that is technically Takahashi doing fanservice by bringing him back since it has nothing to do with the original concept

Well they are dark vampire movies and books.

Yes and I watched a movie (That recapped season 1 events) and a OVA that was four episodes. There was even a eight part thing where some of the characters talk about different concepts from the anime like what Flame Hazes are, what Crimson Deizens are, and other things.

At least you know that.

Yuugi switching places with Yami in Duelist Kingdom was always interesting to me, because of the differences in their outfits. At least you have chooses, because there are some people who cosplay or want to cosplay that don't have chooses or many of them.

I did enjoy those two outfits a lot. The Capsule Monsters one is my favorite of those two.

That could work, because when it comes to cosplay stuff you would need to order it well ahead of time, so that there is enough time if it needs to be made to be made or if it isn't going to be made to have enough time to be shipped to you.

I understand and I remember Death Note having quite dark themes. Granted I believe that Code Geass has some dark themes (May not be as dark as Death Notes' dark themes), but that is just my opinion. True and maybe sometimes creators of these things forget a core concept that they had for their series. That or Takahashi thought that by doing something like this he wouldn't ruin what he had already done for Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Ok and I will see if they are something I would be interested in.

I see. Yes the movie I think it was mostly something that was going according to the manga/novel for some reason. It has nice visuals but I prefered the anime plot.

Yes there are a couple of OVAs out there. One of them has the events that happened before Saya met Yuji again on the bridge on season 3.

An eight part thing? Which one? I cannot recall that.

Mm-hm.

Indeed. It was of course more visually ellaborate but weird no less by those changes at the outfits.

Well I think most of them they don't bother to do some research on the various cosplays that exist. They usually stick with the most usual but yes of course there are some that don't have choices.

Mm-hm. I really liked them!

Indeed plus the shipping price is larger in my country and also sometimes they get stuck at customs so if I were to come for Halloween and if I were to cosplay something that needs to buy stuff for I might send you the money so you will do the order

Yeah because Death Note almost talks about dark magic if someone thinks about and of something that happens to people we are close to etc. Yeah maybe Code Geass is not THAT much of a dark one but of course it has its own dark themes in.

I think he just thought of the fans who had a nostalgia explosion and wanted to see Atem saving the day. The fans that were "hurt" that Atem went to the afterlife and wanted to see him in action and not in flashbacks etc. I think it was clearly fanservice and not anything else because it did ruin many concepts of the actual series. For instance we wanted Otogi there so we place him there as a waiter (while Otogi was almost a freaking milionnaire). We wanted Jounouchi being the goofball again so we have him wear a ridiculous costume and need once again the saving from Yugi even if he was technically the only one who escaped from the Shadows when Marik tormented him etc.

Fair enough

I understand, but I was glad I watched it, because I hadn't seen season 1 in a long time, so it was nice refresher in a way. Hmmm...I believe I saw that OVA.

I remember watching it, but I can't find information about it, so that I can tell you the name. Sorry about that.

Could be weird, but I thought it was cool actually. True and it depends on how the person can cosplay a character and will cosplay a character.

We could do that. That could be the best way to do it.

True for Death Note and glad you understand where I am coming from with Code Geass. I guess sometimes what is dark for some people may not be defined as dark for others.

I understand and sometimes it's hard to satisfy both sets of fans. The fans who feel Atem shouldn't have come back and the ones who really wanted him back. At that point someone is going to get disappointed. Otogi I think it was fine to have him in the role he was in...I mean sure he could've been doing more things with his game shop and we wouldn't have seen him. Although a part of me is happy we saw him, because I enjoy his character a lot. Jounouchi...I feel like he will always be the goofball, because that is the kind of character he is.

Yeah there is a high chance you did. I don't remember the name right now

I see. Anyays I will look it up to see more of those OVAs and movie and everything. No worries.

Yeah.

Yes perhaps. We'll see.

Well there are some things that are objectively dark, I mean the very theme of gods of death is dark but yeah I suppose it depends.

Indeed but like I said objectively speaking (fans opinions outside) by making Atem come back to save the day you are cancelling what you taught us in the main series. I mean Atem clearly states that he was surpassed so he didn't need to save the day for Yugi. I mean if Atem did "come back" in a flashback or a hallucination or anything of that matter it would be fine. But to actually come back (cancelling the Next Life concept) through the Puzzle (cancelling the setting him free concept) to save the day (cancelling the surpassing oneself concept) through the exact same technique (cancelling the growing up together concept) is technically emptying all Yu-Gi-Oh from all the meanings we aimed to see.

Yugi didn't travel in Duat for example. Now THAT would be an amazing concept for a Movie. Imagine Yugi and his team actually moving to the Next World somehow and there THEY had to help the Pharaoh with his trial of the underworld. That would be an amazing concept. Still unneeded since the plot was perfect the way it was but still much more interesting.

In ancient egyptian belief, a man once dead they go through the same trial every night with every sunlight they get reborn and if they fail they are to go to the oblivion so technically that as a plot would make so much more sense! The movie was just a movie of fanserrvice; carelessly throwing us some characters do the same things as we expect them to do; Jounouchi being stupid and for some reason needing saving again, Anzu being sassy, Balura being shy etc. The plot itself was not even that worked out as it was with others.

I mean the Pyramid of Light was full of plotholes too. I mean who was Anubis? What Pharaoh did prison him because there is no hint in Atem's past that it was him, why does he have a grudge against Atem in the first place etc. Yeah  it was a totally random movie but still we did have certain concepts of the characters that were well-portrayed. For instance it was Yugi to destroy the stone above the mummy and not Atem etc.

Of course the movie was impressive but quite honest I would prefer it a thousand times for Yugi to save the day instead. I mean the movie was already random enough for Kaiba to go to freaking outer space on his own just to solve that puzzle, they needn't have broken the entire series of facts from the anime just for the sakes of the movie.

Well what you say of Otogi is true but on the other hand Otogi was already rich before. I remind you that in the manga he built a huge game shop out of nowhere and he was already working with Pegasus at that point. That means he had made millions. Anyways he only appears for one scene so he could be randomly spinning a disc or something so I didn't really care much of his appearance there since it made no difference to the plot. As for Jounouchi yeah he is seen as a goofball but we always see some other part of his personality. He was the only one to wake up from Marik's coma at will, one of the three celected duelists by the dragons and he also showed much maturer stance against Atem leaving to the afterlife. I mean at least make him escape the labyrinth caused by that magical cube on his own, without needing Yugi to win first... But once again since it was only a movie, much more a fanservice movie, they had little to no time to develop other characters' personalities generally.
