Oh, and for all those wondering; There was no person named majora However, The manga by Akira Himekawa attempts to explain the origin of the Mask. The Mask is revealed to be an ancient and dangerous artifact made from the body armor of a legendary beast, Majora. According to a myth devised "by the humans themselves," the beast's armor was supposed to grant wishes and hold a great and terrible power.
However since the manga was not directed by nintendo it's just another Fan fiction.
He looks like he would have a funky mint fetish to me.

Oh, hey, I thought I commented on this, but something must've messed up. O.o
Anyway, I was gonna say that out of all the different versions of the humanoid Majora, Lock-of-Hyrule's is definitely one of my favorite. 
Along those lines, I had actually noticed a sort of innocence in the way you drew him... and one could theorize that something occurred in his life that caused him to become the evil that was locked in the mask, and that he wasn't always necessarily evil... Anyway, was that intentional? Were you trying to give him that innocence, or am I imagining it?
Either way, I love the drawing!

*Lock-of-Hyrule 's version of Majora is my favorite out of all the ones I've seen yet on dA, 'cause he seriously looks and behaves like a being who lives to mess things up as much as possible.
I mean, you gotta figure it'd take a lot of badness to merit getting sealed away to begin with. The plethora of cute-pretty Majoras I see just tires me.

Oh, hey Karny, if you want the ~Zelda-OC-Club 's version of Majora, I can give ya an explaination.
Ok, so when the Goddesses transformed into the triforce and went to the sacred realm, they created two seperate races to help oversee the lives of all of the races in the world: The Zalmunna and the Siderans 9also known as the Paladins).
The Zalmunna were the embodiment of shadow. Led by Majora, they are the ones who oversee that chaos and disorder is present in life. The Siderans, led by Ziven, oversaw that order and light were present in life.
We figure that Majora, a trickster in his own right, was worshipped by a tribe of people and ran rampant until the Siderans managed to seal him in a mask with the help of Kiri (the spirit of the Great Deity mask, also created by Lock).
Any way you look at it, even if you want to go for the straight game text, we figure Majora was a spirit of some sort that was sealed in the mask. :3
I hope that clears things up a little bit.

I actually don't think Mujura is a person ^_^' the english title makes it sound like it's a mask belong to 'Majora', but the original title is just 'mask of mujura' so it could be posessive or it could be that the TRIBE's name is mujura... or any number of things.. XD not the least of which is the idea that mujura is a nonsense magical adjective like the 'cane of somaria'

no, Majora was an evil magician who was sealed in the mask so he was a real... However It might have been a tribe, but I'm pretty sure he was a person. You had to beat him up again in the end... I cant remeber exactly the cutscene, but I think I remeber that. He did posess skull kid. could a whole tribe do that? well. I dont know anymore.

That was 'Majora's incarnation' and 'majora's wrath'.. these are just emotions trapped in the mask. The salesman says there's evil and hatred an' shit in it. You do have a point though, the mask does speak as if it's a person, but it IS an evil enchanted mask. It doesn't ever call itself Mujura...

Oh, people could get into so many theories about Majora XD I just like to take my own take on it, using the game and the manga as a loose guideline. I like you guys' take on things, though, very interesting convo to read. Hey, if you ever have a character for the LoZ world, you should submit it to the ~Zelda-OC-Club I'm sure you'd make a great contribution to out rp chats and out fan made Zeldaverse. :3

I think it was the name of a tribe, but their tribe had a leader of the same name, who was a demon enshrouded in darkness.
If that doesn't explain it, then I'm at a loss for words.

Meh, I think it doesn't matter what it means exactly. If you wanna imagine what 'majora' looks like, you go ahead and draw something creative. Nothin wrong with that. I just wanted to point out that the game never says for sure who or what majora means. ^_^
