Zelda (c) NintendoI bought A Link to the Past for the Wii because ours for the snes was lent out. (and never came back)
In the game, Link has pink hair. Its not a misscoloring since he changes into a pink rabbit when he enters the dark world.
He also has a veriation of diffrent colored tunics and hats. I just started it, but it feels alot like OoT.
I'm addicted to Manwa style and I think I'll keep it. I'm wokring hard on backgrounds. Okay.
I hope it doesnt hurt too bad to look at. Its REALLY bright.

(2010 edit) Wow this is old. his eyes are all off center and too far off his face. the colors are too bright and his skin is too orange. perhaps I'll redraw this one.

Further investigation tells me that the pink hair is due to graphical limitations on the SNES. What I read specifically is that while the colours themselves weren't too limited to give him blond hair, the sprite pallet was. Primarily the issue was his changing into a pink rabbit. To ease the transitions on the programming (to prevent lagging the game) they left his hair more or less the same colour as his rabbit form. Ergo it's a tech-related out of universe issue, not an in-universe one.

while that maybe true heres something also to factor in. People have made hacks of A link to the past where one of the features of these Hacks, was that they had changed Link's hair to blonde. Since technically SNES emulators work about exactly like the SNES. It is possible that Nintendo may have overlooked it.

It IS a miscolouring because the official art for the game shows him blond, like always.

I always thought the pink was the rim of his hat not his hair color. But you do have a good point that he turns into a pink rabbit.

Nice interpretation of Link, with bunny ears. Plus 10 points for use of the blue mail.
If the game feels similar to OoT, that's probably because Miyamoto himself said OoT was essentially just a translation of LttP into 3D.
I don't really think the pink rabbit is proof that Link's pink hair was intentional, but it certainly alludes to it, eh?

I downloaded LttP for Wii as well. Pretty good game, although I still think Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game ever made.
Anyway, very pretty picture. Love the saturated colors.
PS I don't want to know what's in Link's heart if his Dark World form is a pink bunny...O_o

LOLOLOLOL!!!! I seriously almost cried from laughing too hard. When I was young (like, 4 years old) I used to think that the pink was part of the hat. Then my brother informed me a year ago that it was his hair. I still can't believe they gave him pink hair in the game XD

To me, A Link to the Past is the best Zelda game ever made, and one of the best games ever made. I, too, lent someone our version. I'm currently holding on very tightly to our third copy, I've had to buy both the replacements. My mom seems to think even though I've bought it twice though that the game is still hers. x_x so I'll probably wind up buying a fourth... Seems like this is a really hard game to hold on to.

Been playing the game since I was seven and I never noticed any purple hair... but then again, I mostly pay attention tot he soldiers and figure out ways to taunt them.

Oooh~ I really like this image. The way you did the colours looks fantastic. The yellow hat, the pink hair and ears, the colour of the skin and tunic, It all matches very well in a clashing way (I hope that made sense) and looks fantastic! I loe the lighting, how some areas are real light, some are real dark, and the light's angle is great. Wonderful!

This is indeed a nice style, though I don't think anything can beat the style ALttP's original art was in.. which didn't have pink hair BTW.. that was an error they didnt fix for some reason. XD

Alttp is probably one of my top favorite Zelda games. It's really difficult, and pretty intense for a SNES game. I hope you enjoy it!
