This, combined with the one where all you see of Korra is her going up on tip-toe to kiss Asami, is my favorite at the spirit portal. Still, for the raw emotional impact....Inheritance.

I had seen some of your art in a Korrasami Youtube fan vid and wanted to find the artist who had created them. And luckily I was able to find your gallery on DeviantArt. I’m commenting on only this piece, but this is in regards to all of the LOK images you’ve made for your gallery. These are truly enthralling. Absolutely wondrous use of color and drawn to present very poignant scenes. You have exceptional ability to convey facial expressions with deep emotion. It’s clear that the Legend of Korra made an impression on you. And Korra and Asami became very important characters for you to go to such lengths to put so much careful thought and hard work into these mesmerizing works of art. It’s clear you were moved by their relationship, and now your viewers will be moved by the wonderful images you’ve made of them. Beautifully done.

Ah, Asami, the only thing more powerful than the Avatar not that 'Sami would use it in a bad way, maybe to get her to take the trash out, and to quit leaving wet towels on the floor, but that's it!

Korra and Asami perfectly complement one another, their opposite personalities and abilities perfectly complement one another, this can be seen even in Book 1 and 2, even before Bryke made the final decision that Korrasami will become endgame. One can even say that this happened quite ... accidentally.
Korra is a very powerful bender, Avatar, master of all four elements and spiritual, Asami is a very skilled non-bender, a genius with exceptional knowledge and skills regarding technology and science, and not spiritual.
Korra symbolizes the tradition, culture and spiritualism, while Asami symbolizes development, technology and science.
Korra is physically and spiritually strong, Asami is emotionally and intellectually strong.
When they fight together, they are in perfect sync.
They are always listening to advice from one another, the plans they had, and never led decisions of each other in question.
They are always ready to comfort each other when one of them feels unhappy and injured.
They will always be next to each other and follow each other till the end.
Korra and Asami love each other unconditionally.
They deserve to be together.
Korra likes to wear blue/white, Asami likes to wear red/black.
They make a perfect Balance.

It's almost bizarre how well it works. The way they had to keep it relatively subtle with minimal overt flirting and Asami being smart enough to hold off any confessions until a good time actually kept them from falling into the pits they stumbled into with Kataang. Korrasami wound up becoming not just a good relationship, it's one that felt natural, one that was well depicted, AND one free of most saccharine crap that makes most Disney relationships look stupid. It's practically a miracle in it's existence, especially when you consider we're in an age where Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey are considered top sellers.

Sorry but compared to "romantic" movies and books made in the last 20-30 years and current writers of "romantic" stories , Bryke are Shakespeare.

I half suspect that the reason a lot of people say it came from "Out of nowhere" was because they ignored the clues and assumed the possibility was off the table. I admit i half believed that since i only spotted half of the clues on my first watch and had to go through the second half again to really pick up on things. And even then though? Even after my first time watching when i only saw half the hints and thought Nickolodeon fucked Bryke over?
I still thought it was better than every single Hollywood and anime romance i have seen in recent memory. The only competitor i can think of is one visual novel. Beyond that? Nothing overtly focused on drama comes remotely close to matching the natural feel and poignancy of what was ultimately a background event in Legend of Korra.

I may be spit-ballin' here, but the clues were pretty darn obvious.
"Are you okay?" It becomes their catchphrase.
Neither one of them seemed to give a crap about the Mako situation, just as long as they were still cool. "I've never had a girlfriend to talk to before, except for Naga, this is nice." (I'm paraphrasing here, my memory isn't quite photographic)
Asami's unconscious hair flips, guys and girls do that to make themselves look more attractive to the person they're with, one of those unconscious flirting things, and then then were the outright Charlie's Angels wind blowing bangs everywhere hair flips too.
Asami *LOVES* to show off for Korra, the car racing, fighting.........
Korra only taking Asami to collect queen pinchy face's money, and then totally going Road Warrior together with the bandits, and saving each other from them. You may argue, "That's because they were friends" and yeah, they were, but I like to read into things the way I like to read into things, and I see more there. People who go to battle with one another, grow to love each other in one way or another.
I've never seen two people so happy to be kicking so much ass in so short a time, God knows I enjoyed watching it.
On the airship when the Earth Kingdom caught Asami and Korra- Asami twirling those damn keys on her finger with "that look". It was almost seductive, no, it *was* seductive. "Yeah, I'll let you go, but I'm going to commit the sight of you in chains to my memory first."
After that, the "straight" jacket came right off, carelessly discarded on the floor- like clothing before well, you know. Did they really need to pay so much attention to animating that?
Asami lets Korra drive her car, even though she trashed the first one, there's only three reasons why someone lets another person drive their own car.
1. Their legs are broken
2. They're over 40
3. They're in love with the person who's driving the car.
Asami's working on the sand skiff, and it looks like Korra's staring at her badonkadonk the whole time while the captain is talking.
Asami is moral, but she will do *ANYTHING* to protect Korra, and she will stretch the truth, and or outright lie to help further Korra's agendas.
She also senses when Korra is feeling less confidence in herself, and she always tries to boost her mood and self-esteem.
Korra writes only to Asami when she's still sick after the end of book 3, it's just easier for Korra to talk about things with Asami.
That hug in the episode Reunion? That ain't no "I'm glad to see you, girl!" hug, and who blushes and unconsciously grooms themselves after being complimented on their hair by "just a friend"? The hair flip thing again.

I still can't believe that many Makorra shippers still claim that between Korra and Asami was not enough interaction, that their friendship was not strong enough or worse that Asami is flat, undeveloped, boring and flawless character.
My first reaction to this is to make a facial expression as Asami in Book 2 when Korra returned to the Republic City and unexpectedly kissed Mako (aka her literal reaction to Makorra ship), and then I react like: Really? Are we watching the same show?
Do Makorra shippers deliberately ignored everything that happened after the end of Book 2? Are they deliberately ignore every scene in which Korra and Asami are together? Are they ignored every scene in which Korra and Asami talking to each other? Every scene in which they support each other? Every scene where they fight together? Are they particularly ignore the fact that Asami care of Korra more than two weeks after she ended up in a wheelchair after a battle against Zaheer? Do they ignore the fact that Asami gave Korra absolute and unconditional support just when she was going through the worst period in her life? Did they forget Asami's words: "I want you to know that I'm here for you. If you ever want to talk or ... anything."(these words are totally convinced me that Asami at that time fell in love with Korra, but Korra realized that much later, but it is understandable because at the time she passed through a difficult period of life by fighting against PTSD and depression).
Did they deliberately ignore their relationship during Book 4? Do they ignore what happened in Episode 2, Episode 7 (especially in this episode), Episode 8 and the final episode?
My message to Makorra shippers; you do not have to love this ship, but if you're gonna deliberately ignored the development of the relationship between Korra and Asami through Books 3 and 4, and if you're gonna ignore Asami's character and development, or worse to claim that it didn't exist, unfortunately we will not have a rational conversation.

This is beautiful! I really love the lighting effects, especially the little falling flecks. 83 Only one thing--Korra's shoulder looks a little wide at the top. Her arm looks a little out of proportion to her head. The other lady's arm looks fine, though. Korra's just threw me off a little bit. >W<
