Description
Commission for Dani Walker, of herself (gryphon) and her soon-to-be husband (horned canine)! This one I decided to do in acrylics because I have a lot of freedom with the medium. I think it turned out fantastically, I'm pretty pleased. Coloured pencil touch ups make a big difference too, I think. Though, this picture taught me I need to work on textures other than fur, feathers and grass (the rocky cliff). Need more people to commission me for gryphons and birds! The gryphon is a combination of a Red Tailed Hawk and a Somali Cat, and her canine guy is a wolf with ram horns and Cape Hunting Dog markings.Check out the detail images: [link]
[edit] Huskie noticed it looked a little bit much on the green side, so I did a bit of hue adjustment to warm it up and make it look more accurate to the original. =3

Faved for the great communication of emotion via body language. Before reading the description, I knew nothing about the characters, whether they were mates, lovers, or friends, yet it was obvious they had a strong bond of love and trust.

I like this a lot, particularly your take on the African Wild Dog colouring. It's a shame the commission was for a wolf shape with that colouring, because the real critters have the most amazing rounded ears that I bet would be lots of fun to represent. Not as aerodynamic, though...

giving the griffin red tail markings
makes it seem more western. being from Texas wher we have a lot of red tails makes the picture even better for me

its pritty funkey, couse the eagle has wings and the hasn't, but the wolf is teaching the eagle to fly. its just funky

Oh wow truly stunning and the two characters look stunning themselves. I love the humanistic characteristics and how you used them, such as the griff's hand outstreched is very human-like. Absolutely adore this and it deserves a fav.
