Today I tried a new way of painting digitally, which is much closer than painting traditionally and looks much more painterly! ~wwsf was my guinea pig this time around, this is actually a character I designed for him!Unfortunately this way of working really hurt my hands, which is a bummer because I really like the way this looks. I'm going out on a limb and taking commissions for this painterly type of commission to see how well I do when I practice them more, but slots are really limited because of that pain.

Character design looks really unique. Such a jumping creature looks more beliveable than a typical winged anthros. What about new style: nice and indeed painterly, but IMO not far greater than your older one. If it is so much pain for you, its usefullness is questionable (again, in my opinion). The art demands sacrifices, but not at that degree.

Do you do something differently when you do these? It's weird that only they hurt <__<;. Like, maybe if you're timing yourself, you might spend too much time at once working on one, when usually you pop in and out of your stream and stuff? I dunno. It's perplexing though!
These are AWESOME though! They have this amazing organic and soft look to them that I REALLY dig! Plus the character's just gorgeous! I hope you can figure out what's ailing you so you can make a whole ton of these!

It's mostly that I'm unused to the technique, so I grip the stylus like it's a rabid snake trying to kill me, which after a few hours really hurts! XD
