Description So while ~Pspynett was down the other week, we paid a glorious visit to toymaster and yea, verily, DISCOVERED SCHLEICH LIEK DUUUDE. That is, instead of discovering awesome spectacularly-discounted airship models like we did last time.

PAINTYPAINTYPAINTY.

This one is my Endless Forest character, Taichba . He's made from a Red Deer base (original model here ), with the brow tines and everything above the trez tines chopped off and replaced with Green Stuff over wire armature palmate antlers. x3 I still didn't know about the vaseline trick, so the antlers are a bit blobby and uneven, forgive me. ^^' There's also a touch of Green Stuff making it look like the deer head is a mask, and a strip for the mask strap. Again, acrylics over the lot.

He's also retardedly front-heavy, and tips over if you so much as nudge him. xD

Taichba is © to me (=apocalypsebunny )
Endless Forest © Tale of Tales
Model base © Schleich

great job! have you thought about maybe drilling into his belly and adding a "counterweight" for the antlers? you could then patch the hole with clay and repaint it. he'd be better weighted and wouldn't knock over as easily ^_^

Oooh, that's a good idea. What would you use as the weight? I probably won't do that for this one but I'll definitely remember that in the future - thanks!

i'd suggest weighing the front end of the figure and then get lead fishing weights to counter-balance it. they're small and easy to manipulate, and because they're so small it would be easy to hide them ^_^ they're pretty easy to find, just go to a fishing or a hobby-shop, and they should be relatively cheap, too.

tell me if it works, because i just might use my own idea *laughs*

Ooh, capital idea. I probably wouldn't go for lead, because of the whole...lead thing xD But I think you can get non-lead equivalents. Shall do, and thanks!

Good God, I love this one! Those stripes on his sides and that white background made me think he was hollow at first. Awesome effect! I hope you do some more of these guys!

Thanks very much! :3 You know, after I read this, I tried squinting at the image to see the hollow thing. xD And dear god, if I could do that to a model, would that not be The Most Awesome Thing Ever. D:

Sa-weet. I'll put mine up tomorrow, I think. The antlers are awesome, but I still think the mask looks like a flayed deer face. :3

Possibly because it...essentially is, in the model's terms. xDDDD Thanks! :3
