They're pretty much my favourite colours, so I'm quite happy with the shot, as well.

Orange - green is my favourite contrast.

it has more about blue + orange cuz green is background and main object is blue(cross to purple) - that also some great compliment between colors.

Yeah, it's what made me NOT delete this picture although I was a bit annoyed that the focus (what little focus there is) is more on the heron's legs than on its head. But it was moving so quickly!

And suspicious, too! I still quite far away, but as soon as I pointed my zoom in its direction, it got spooked and took off.

large birds like that are tough to capture!! I have had then take off not knowing they were there. by time I regained myself and got the camera up, they were gone!!sounding like a helicopter taking off!!

I usually find smaller birds more difficult to capture, because they move faster and present bigger problems to the autofocus due to their size, but this heron was acting as if he had made bad experiences with people.

they are like wild turkeys. in that they grow up realizing they are on every sizable predictors lunch menu. so they take no chances!

yep! very few survive to adult. so they watch the rest of the clutch get eliminated, and more than a few close scrapes them selves.they have too get weary and smart fast!
