Oh wow, my son in law would love this, I may have to use it as a reference for my next painting for him. LOL (if that is okay with you?) Still very jealous of your backyard.

You're so lucky to have a deer in your backyard! I'd love to have a backyard, specially if I would find a deer or two there

they are great as long as they're not eating my flowers had one up on the front porch the other day nibbling off all the blooms   Most of the "important stuff" is behind a fence but they still stick their heads through and prune the roses that they can reach!!

I do understand it can be troublesome to get the tops of the flowers gone, not so pretty, but still jealous of all the deers wandering around.

Really neat shot Ruth!
I like how you can see from it's legs positions, that tell of the springing bounce type run. totally different from the whitetails I have out my way.

Thanks! I think the bounce is a product of the fact that he's in tall grass and on a really steep hillside...probably wouldn't 'boing' if he was running on flat land But it sure was cute and I was so happy to catch it!

For sure!! Cait was talking to him last night from up on the deck - telling him to leave the antlers where we can find them

It's not as fun and cool as one might think We have whitetails in town here--eating gardens, stripping bark from trees and terrorizing dogs and alleycats

davincipoppalag In reply to Corvidae65 [2013-06-30 19:08:56 +0000 UTC]

well I guess they can be a nuisance too

kayaksailor In reply to davincipoppalag [2013-06-30 22:38:30 +0000 UTC]

I agree with Corvidae65 but where we are is very rural (lots of more than 5 acres) so as long as you keep your "garden" fenced all is well...also our weather isn't rough so there's always something to eat and they're not forced to eat bark...as far as terrorizing dogs - we've got signs nearby saying "Dogs caught harassing cattle will be shot!" LOL
