I can totally see that as your favorite! I can't believe the vibrancy around his head! Looked similar to mine, although I was unable to capture that type of shot because the photo came out too dark. Love it!

I've been trying to get that full head for quite awhile...could be just a bit crisper but that gives me a reason to keep taking their pictures

Thanks! I've been kept busy keeping the feeders filled - we're beginning to get a few flowers but I know they appreciate the feeders 'cuz they let me get so close

flowers in February are criminal, too!
but, things are beginning to look up a bit, our average day time temps are starting to settle at about 40 degrees... so Spring won't be that far away now... but, your coastal warmth is awesome! and you are very lucky that the hummers let you get so close!!

my coastal warmth is several hundred miles away but it is still California...the flowers I'm talking about are the little belly flower weeds that popup and bloom in a week or so after a good soaking rain - but we have our first crocus (from bulbs that I planted last October) it's so cute and tiny

It's a good thing I took a few pictures yesterday...this morning it looks like a snail took to nomming on it but I saw that the daffodiles are beginning, too so we'll still have others...

we haven't seen any evidence of them since we moved here, but the garden shed had several part boxes left by the previous owners so I better go put some bait out, too! hmm, maybe it was a slug!!!

Try putting up a feeder when it gets warmer...if they're around they'll come!
