[Edit: now with a Thor companion piece !]Whew, DONE. Well, for values of 'done' that equal 'making myself stop nitpicking it'.
So HERE YOU GO, INTERNETS. I drew Loki for you. Actually I drew Loki for ~Velvedere , but she's a nice person and willing to share.
Notice I didn't draw Hiddleston, not because I'm not fond of him (because believe me, I'm plenty fond of him), but because I'm lazy I've never really cared for actor-resemblance fanart (it creeps me out in a way I can't quite quantify), so I can't bring myself to make it. It neatly gets me out of having to copy the movie's or comic's costume design, too. |D
See, I'm being clever. If you like Loki, surely you can get behind that, right? *grin*
Also! Because a few people have asked, and thus I remembered that not everyone is as embarrassingly nerdy as me and can read runes, derpderp, a transliteration of the inscription:
'I am burdened with glorious purpose', and 'but the horrors are a part of me and they will never go away'. Because wow, projecting much in that scene, Loki?

I love this art and the outlining use of elder furthark! I learned all the letters a while a go so I was able to read it without the translation which made it 100x better. Very well done

Masterfully done I adore how you did the wrinkles and shading, including the wonderful curves with the plated armor and staff, magnificent. The runes just added the extra 'oomph'.

haha I just learned the runic alphabet and so I started reading the sides before I read the description. whoops. (I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who is nerdy enough to learn it) It's an awesome drawing ^.^

actually it says something, if you read from left from the bottom up you can see the sentence that loki says in the avengers, but some letters are wrong...

Yes, the transliteration is right there in my description. And none of the letters are wrong. I used Anglo-Saxon runes instead of Futhark (Norse) runes, and there are some differences in the alphabet. It was a deliberate choice. The only part where they could be construed as even incorrect is where I spelled out the runes for 't-h-e' instead of using a single character for 'th', and that was because I needed the word to fill more visual space.

The description below the artwork explains it: they're Anglo-Saxon runes rather than Futhark (Norse runes). You're correct that they don't spell anything in Futhark. ^^

That is an excellent question! It's actually both -- the 'o with two legs' is the way it's written in Futhark, which is the older and more properly Norse alphabet, while the alphabet I've used is technically called Anglo-Saxon runes: descended from the Elder Futhark, but expanded (and slightly altered in a few letters, as you noticed) and adapted for writing Latin texts (and thus by extension is a little easier to use for modern English). You were quite right to notice and wonder!
