A BOATAD //laughs in regretIT IS DONE. THE MASSIVE PICTURE FROM THREE STREAMS AND 12 HOURS OF MY LIFE. AND I AM PROUD.
Goodness this is most fun I've had with art in AGES! How I desperately missed my tablet xD
What's this? Everyone on the islands is super duper small! Diminutive. Lilliputian. Joltik look like oversized puppies at this size. So I assume. I always mess around with canon sizes.
Here are Beryllium and her dearest friends on a BOATAD RIDE, admiring the gigantic world around them! Look, look at how big those Yanma are! And those flowers, and this Lotad goodness gracious. What a big lotad.
I hope the little aquatic dear doesn't becoming especially fond of its tiny new friends... it'll be in for disappointment when they return to normal. And then it will cry, and we don't want any Lotad crying around here. No one wants that.
And with that, I am OFF! I have more things to draw and I am veeerrry excited about it >u

This is absolutely amazing! Probably the best thing I have ever seen (but then again, I just logged on now and haven't checked out your newer stuff lately).
I love the sense of unity and friendship between these characters. I love how wonderful they seem together, how much they seem to enjoy nature and each other's company and how eager they are to go on this amazing ride! I love the whimsy and fantastic dream-like quality to this picture. Your beautiful coloring technique and vibrant colors have a large part to play in that aspect, but just the idea of these three chums riding down a sleepy river on a giant sentient lilypad with gigantic dragonflies hovering overhead is enough to whet any storyteller's (or dreamer's) appetite!
I have said it before and I will surely say it again- I love your work. I adore your colors and techniques. I think you are a brilliant artist with great vision.
I always look forward to your work and adore your characters. <3

The geometric water is great! I think I'm going to start doing that from now on. Believe it or not, SU also heavily influenced the way I draw noses! When it first came out I was like 'WOAH STEVEN HAS A CUTE NOSE' and I guess things spiraled from there :'D

your paintings are always gorgeous tbh ;-; I don't remember if I asked, but what are your brush settings/ what brushes do you usually use? I'm assuming this was in photoshop ;v;

Ah, I don't believe you did! ^^ No worries. Yep, this is photoshop, and I actually just use the hard round at 100% hardness! I do my sketches on a linear burn layer at 70% opacity and color under it at 100% opacity. After that I group everything and make a new layer on top for cleanup stuff, which I do at 80%. I don't really play with brush same much ^^
