I shouldn't be allowed to title things on such little sleep. I do apologize that my scanner cut off the bottom part of Ariel's tail. I'm sorry for that.So believe it or not this is my second Ariel piece I've ever done. You'll NEVER see the first- it sold while I was working on it at a con for funsies. LOL "Can you finish that today!?" "Uh... yeah." "Can I buy it!?" "SURE!" it happens!
The Little Mermaid was the first movie I saw in theaters- also that year after Christmas is when my folks drove us down to Disneyland (San Jose to Anaheim- not fun with 2 teenagers and a kid in the back of a car- not a van or station wagon, a car). My souveiner from the trip was an Ariel Doll- it came with her fins/ seashells AND her town dress... it also started the first collection I had- Disney Leading Lady Dolls... I had ALL of them, up until Tarzan just never got Jane and stopped collecting.
Anyways- that hair was a pain to figure out only because WHY DID I PICK A POSE THAT HAS A VERY PALE ARM IN A SEA OF RED!? that was silly of me!
ps: I blame this movie for my later in life obsession for 'pirates' in tight pants with awesome boots (Prince Eric, not a Pirate but go with me here. Han Solo, Mal Reynolds. It's a thing)
As always, all done on X-Press It Blending Card with Copic SP Multi Liners over BIC Mechanical Pencil with Copic Sketch Markers for color. Need to fix her fin... it's bugging me...

Very well done, and why you ask did you put her arm there?? Because. You're artistic. You did a great job with it even if you had a little trouble figuring out how to draw it. I like it.

ROFL it's because Ariel's eyes are distinct. The animators were HUGELY influenced by Anime in 1989 if you look at Ariel's Body and her face you see it quite clearly she does NOT look like ANYTHING American Animation had seen before. XD she's a hybred.

It's true! Also, my hair is so dark... and stubborn because I'm sooooooo pale I lighten it adding red to it or else I look goth 100% of the time. So I use the "for dark hair": red... leave it on for an hour and a half (box says 30 mins) use heat and still.... yeaaaaaaah stubborn XD

That sounds really frustrating! I think we all get frustrated with our hair. Mine is so thin, but I love long hair. Every time I try to grow mine out though, it gets really stringy and broken at the ends so I end up cutting it, then regretting it later. ARGGG!

LOL oh mine is thick and VERY curly and quite frizzy I was forced to have short hair my whole childhood (mum didn't want to deal with curly tangles which is fair) so in 7th grade, I BICed my head... yeah... I was allowed to grow it out after that. I've kept it long since save 8 months after I turned 21. I like it better on me, but I am so used to short hair that having it in my face BUGS me so it's usually held back 99% of the time. Pretty sure my girlfriend is the only one who's seen it down in years. XD

I'm sorry to hear that! I know I've always wanted more body to my hair, but I don't think I'd want it that curly. I saw your profile picture and I thought your hair looked great though. Did you straighten it for that pic?
LOL! I know about having the same hairstyle for a ridiculously long time. My husband is probably tired of seeing my hair either up in a pony tail or held back by a headband! ^^

LOL yeah my sorority sister wanted to play with her new straightener. I haven't had that hair in YEARS. I have bangs LOL but yeah occassionally I do straighten it XD

Wow! That is dedication right there. The most time I ever spend on my hair is 15 min. and that includes shampooing. ^^

That;s my usual routine. LOL it's wash, condition- scrubba scrubba the rest of me, rinse out conditioner- put it in a towel get dressed. run brush threw it pop it in a pony tail/bun done. XD
