Description Okay- I might end up alienating some people here but lets be honest. Tinker Bell is a B-R-A-T. She is!!!! No matter WHAT source meterial you are using (save direct to DVD Disney) Tink is a BRAT. Yes, she's got the 'small dog' complex where she's a lot of bark (chime?) and a little bite (pulling Wendy's hair) but she is a BRAT.

I'm not saying Tink is EVIL no- I'm just saying, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck. Am I saying I don't like Tink or her design? Not at all! Just she isn't the best choice for "friendship" movies on Disney's part- but I digress.

AAAAH coloring books- you always have so many wonderful ideas in you of what I should draw. I saw Tink wreathed in flowers and went "OOO!" it just made so much sense.

Now people have heard me go on and on about how much I LOVE cosplayers and I do- I have a loyal troupe who is VERY good to me. (Doing poses for me, send me references, acting out scenes from Justice League Unlimited AT my table!) but my first 'cosplayer' wasn't some Anime Boston thing. Nope. It happened at my Mum's house in the dining room.

See, I LOVE Halloween. It's my Christmas! (It was the ONE Day a year my Dad would actually BE home guaranteeing time with him!) He'd be the one to take me trick-or-treating. Now I was a tall kid! 5'7'' before 4th grade (haven't grown since) but I was also a real nervous kid when it came to getting lost. So my Dad at 6'4'' (and a half) stood out from a crowd as it was- but add in the Bright Day Glo Orange US Coast Guard coat he wore? Couldn't lose 'em!

But I digress. I went to Catholic School for YEARS but come from a VERY Irish Catholic family so 1: it's big 2: we kind of like have this injoke about our culture being 'main stream' and no one knowing it? IE- Halloween. But at Catholic School it was pretty much frowned on, blah blah blah. FINALLY for 7th grade my parents relented and let me go to a PUBLIC school where most of my cousins went. Why? Because it's art program was the best in the state. Seriously.

You might have seen it on TV a few years back... Disney Channel did a series with the REAL High School Musical Against All Oz? Siobahan Magnus from American Idol went there, Joss Whedon. Y'know a few people. XD ANYWAYS- Halloween at BHS has always and will always be off the chain crazy.

With a TOP RATED Drama Department and a theater more high tech and awesome than many of the ones in Boston it's self yeah we go a liiiiiiittle crazy with the Halloween parade.

But I didn't know this yet- I was just in 7th at the Junior High. My Mum told me my older cousin, Shauna would be coming over to barrow the sewing mechine (she lived just a block away) so I wasn't surprised when she showed up. Shauna worked at the dining room table I was at the PC not too far off but I'd stop and come and look at what she was doing.

Hand made patterns. I had never SEEN what it took to make a dress even a small dress. Within 5 hours my cousin had made Tinker Bell's dress. I saw the full result before anyone else and she looked- AMAZING.

Fun Fact: That same cousin went to SCAD- and now lives in LA working as a professional costumer for the same major picture studio her husband works at (he's a stunt man.)

Shauna was the only cousin on my Mum's side who didn't treat her much larger, chubby, pimple faced, still in braces until the last day of 8th grade cousin like the plauge- the others did but she was kind. Shauna was my first model, my first cosplayer and the first person outside of my parents to look at my art and say I actually had a talent. We were never CRAZY close but we had something in common- we were both on some level big 'ol fangirls.

So- Shauna, this is for you. Happy Anniversary.

ps: Tinker Bell was not her best Costume... her Ruffio from Hook the next year was so drop dead accurate people thought she was a boy- and this is a petite girl who a year before ROCKED a fitted mini dress. So... yeah. XD

Sorry for the long ass discription. Clearly I'm procrastinating!

Pretty pretty! I love the design on her wings and the flowers around the border! Very feminine and delicate!

The design on the wings was on suggestion of someone else- so I looked at other drawings of Faries and said "yeah that might make this more interesting!" so glad you like it!

I love it! Suggestions from friends are never a bad thing. That's how we learn new ways of doing things!

I love the border. And yeah, Tinkerbell is totally a brat, but she's pure baby laughter, according to Barrie (the original writer) - self-control isn't part of her make-up!

LOL you get so many props in my books for knowing the Barrie version, the last play I did in High School was Peter Pan and I loved the original work myself. And as a kid, I can't tell you how many times I watched the version with Mary Martian as Peter! You're right- self control ISN'T at all in a baby's M.O >^.^< Great point!

That's awesome that your high school did Peter Pan! I love Barrie's version - both the play and the novel. I have never gotten to do the play, but I did get to use the novel in my senior thesis in college, though, and that was fun.
