Description Finalized tempera painting on wooden panel
I had a problem with this panel: the home made gesso layer started to crack upon drying. Nevertheless, I used this panel to paint on. The cracks are still visible through the multiple colour layers (not the best picture here)...
I guess it was a beginners mistake; I used a wrong ratio of glue/chalk/whitening agent/water together with the fact that the process of gessoing was not carried out correctly. So I prepared a new set of panels, this time using another type of wood and the famous recipe of Cennini for a perfect gesso layer. These panels look pearl white and are very smooth...ready for use

Despite the technical difficulties you’ve created a great image.
I think it’s brilliant!
p.s.
I've eaten many of those in my younger days!

O yes I really like this painting. Took me a long yime to finish it (6 months I guess) but I really like the idea of a mushroom forest.

However, I don't like the regular mushrooom for diner...bwuueeeek. I'm always fishing them out of my plate if I find some....

Thanks, dear friend, for your never-ending support

Hahhaha. Mushrooms.. The English WORD mushroom, sounds soft and yummy! Even tho I don't like mushrooms what it comes to eating them. Let the mushrooms be alone! They're very nice at the yard, but not in my plate!

And you're very welcome.

Allright...one more smaller message....
Just to wish you all the best for your work tommorow in art school. I bet you'll do it just great . However, in case you do get frustrated, just bite your neigbour's ear (it is the Van Gogh reflex .

O yes, the word 'mushrooms' does not only sound soft and yummy, they ARE soft, slippery, rubbery...ooooewaaaahhaaaa. I can feel it in my mouth...

Have a nice evening, dear Niina
