Description
Art Trade with . She asked that I draw two of her OCs, Gris (the fox with the red cape) and Friar Latrikos.
In this scene, Latrikos is placing the royal (blood-stained) crown on Gris' head because he is the last living relative of the royal family, and therefore becomes King of the Stonefoxes.
Even though it's his coronation, I didn't really see this as a joyous event. From what I know about the characters and their storylines, I imagined seeing Gris in this picture as, not a king, but as a matyr. The way how he kneels so stiffly, along with his armlets and sandals (and the bleeding crown), are meant to make him look like he's being put up for execution, and he's too proud (or perhaps brave?) to beg for his life.
I actually had a lot of fun drawing Friar Latrikos, particularly his bone-foot as well as his paws. I just loved drawing his paws, those gaunt paws with those curved claws and those long skinny arms.
Hope you enjoy this, Snowstoat!

Looks great. Thank you very much.
It's true that Gris didn't seem very happy when he was named king in the book. But then again, during the whole book he never even smiles.
He did take it very seriously, though.
I'm sorry I don't have my part yet.
Maybe next week.
