I think I know, Dennis, and I'm quite happy to have rediscovered these old photos after they have been tucked away for many years. It's quite a unique little world of its own down there and I think daily life is still going on much the same way as always, despite tourism today plays a major role in the island's economy. Lamu became a UN World Heritage Site in 2001 and that will hopefully help preserve this unique culture for many years to come
