Thank you! It's fun creating Anime characters without having to pick a specific figure. ^^

Yeah, I saw some of the modeling work that you were doing to create the anime head.
I'm sure that was a labor of love to say the least.

I haven't even made it out of Sculptris waters yet.Β Let alone zBrush.
But I do understand the sentiment.Β I am now learning how to use
around 8 new programs at the same time for my own art and templates.
It is already paying off though.Β I was able to communicate with some
people in other countries by making (rough) changes to the images
myself.Β Inkscape has come in handy for that.
There is a old saying.Β "Begin with the end in mind."Β Very simple and
it makes tons of sense.Β Focus on your dream and the rest will come to
you.

Yes, that's how it is. It would help if I weren't also a game programmer and musician as well, for that also takes a share of my time, and adds more tools to the bunch. The software tools I use are free, but the music tools are [really] expensive. I am also trying to learn how to draw, but maybe that's just too much and I won't be able to keep up with the multitasking and still have the projects finished. Drawing will have to wait... maybe to the next life? LOL

I was a bit of a cartoonist as a kid.Β That was about as far as that went.
I was forced to stop playing music when my autism and dyslexia
worsened with age (couldn't read sheet music regularly anymore.)
But that also explains why you have tools that can scale a male
voice to sound like a female (and yes I saw the anims.)

I have not had the time to go through all of them yet.
By the way, you owe me a patch of hair and new
glasses for your spot the difference game lol. I finished
it, but crap.Β Puzzle or not, one of those is almost
impossible to see.

I think I know which game that is, and I just did the programming there, the differences were chosen by the collab artist. ^^

The fact you can make adult anime characters, in the classic 70s style, with it is a huge plus to me.

I am making the extras now, like 30 Anime skin tones, 25 Anime eyes textures, 30 Anime facial expression presets, and a some Anime style head shape presets (70s and chibi so far). In the PDF tutorial I will show how to change the character's age and gender as well. ^^

Some "make ups" might not hurt either.
π: 0 β©: 1
ken1171 In reply to SherbertTCat [2014-05-05 01:42:03 +0000 UTC]
Make ups would require a head texture, which wouldn't make sense since I don't know what body will be used with the head. Even if I knew what figure, the texture would only match with a single body texture and that would be too limiting. That's the nature of composite figures. That's why I am providing 30 skin tones, so people can copy the material to the body and it will render seamless in any lighting. That's what you see right here, rendered in Octane and the skin is still seamless. ^^

S'pose D|S users could figure something out with the layered image editor.
π: 0 β©: 1
ken1171 In reply to SherbertTCat [2014-05-05 01:59:10 +0000 UTC]
Well, Poser has the Material Room to create "overlay" textures, such as adding scars, tattoos make ups and 2nd skins over any existing texture by simply drag and dropping shader nodes. But that would be too advanced a topic on top of learning how to work with composite figures, so I am sticking to simple skin tones as you see in this render. A texture template is provided to paint custom textures as well, so anything is possible. ^^

Overlays, that's what the layered image editor does in D|S. So I'm sure something like eyeshadow for say...my vampire girl character could be accomplished that way.

When you go to edit, or choose any map in a surface(difusse, specular, glossiness, opacity, etc etc), it gives "Layered Image Editor" as an option.

I would probably had used DSΒ moreΒ from the beginning if it had some way of editing materials - that's very important to me because it affects the things will look when rendered.
