Description Elgir A representative of the peace-loving fauna. Height at the withers, the difference depending on the species - the smallest representative "tropical elgir" 1m20, and the largest "sea elgir" 2, 5 m. These animals, people and some other races, are diligently trying to domesticate and tame, but to no avail. Novologists are already inclined to believe that the Elgirs cannot be pacified, that they are exclusively wild animals. At the moment, four types of elgirs have been recorded. These are marine, tropical, steppe and common. All of them noticeably differ from each other in size, color, shape of the ridge on the back of the head and a movable "sail" on the back of males - this sail carries a demonstrative mechanism. Elgirs are social animals, live in herds, from 5 to 20 individuals, or even more. Both males and females peacefully coexist in the herd. They are headed by several males who share certain roles among themselves. The role of the watchman is the most attentive, vigilant elgir, who monitors safety and notifies the herd in time about a noticed predator, or some other misfortune. The role of the scout is the fastest, nimble and agile elgir, who helps the herd in search of new pastures, watering holes and shelters. The role of the protector is the strongest and most enduring elgir, who will be the first to rush into battle if it is necessary to repulse a female or cub from the clutches of a predator, or any other enemy - and it should be noted that females of elgirs prefer flight rather than fight, they will not even rush to defend their offspring , because it is better to save yourself, because she always has time to make a new clutch. Males, on the contrary, rush into a fight in order to protect a female or a child. They can fight both alone and attack as a whole group. They beat with powerful blows from the hind legs and tail. In the herd, males do not sort things out, everyone does their job. And during the mating season, males diligently flaunt in front of females, dance and sing. And the females themselves have the right to choose with whom they mate. Elgirs are oviparous, and the females make one common nest, and raise babies all together, and take care of each cub as if it were a native, even if it is not. And therefore, after hatching, females and males are forced to monitor a very large brood of children, whose livestock sometimes reaches as much as 40k individuals. But few babies grow up to puberty, because most of them will be eaten by predators - for which the elgir babies are a tidbit. The herd itself changes over the years. He is joined by new Elgirs, who were expelled from their native herds upon reaching "adulthood" and were forced to wander in search of a new family, or in place of the killed or deceased Elgir, his descendant became, and so on. The places of the leaders, too, with a frequency of once every 5 or even 8 years, are replaced by new males. After all, young people come, stronger and more agile. The very formation of a new herd is very simple. For the most part, these are young animals huddled in one heap, having left their native herds.
