This was from December 8th, the four-year anniversary of the day Dimebag Darrell was murdered.Grief is confusing and painful enough without having to wonder why I ache so bad over someone I didn't even know. It just makes me so fucking sad, I can't even explain how much it still hurts.

dont worry. im still like that. after 2004 my birthday was never the same. he died two days after. i wanted to fucking die. and still now i cant believe he is gone i still cry till this day.

He was the guitarist of Pantera and Damageplan, and he was shot point-blank in the head on stage during a Damageplan show in 2004 by a crazed "fan". Pantera was one of the first bands that ever really SPOKE to me as an adolescent and their music helped me through a lot of really hard times, so I've always taken this kind of personally.

The subject is tragic, and your photo suits it perfectly. It's always the great ones, with so much potential, that end up going early. And it's never fair, so grief is just a natural response.

I think any person who considers themself a metal fan should feel the same way about this. It's just such a tragic thing that shows how seriously sick people are, and it happens much more often then it should. I just don't get why it had to be Dimebag. :/
