Was that not suppose to be them? Cause when I first saw this pic I thought it was Rihanna and Emeli Sande. That looks exactly like Rihanna. The outfit looks like the one she wore in Umbrella or some video and Storm looked exactly like Emeli but darker skin (Emile is half white Irish so she has more European features.)Actually all of those singers are Biracial.

Top marks on the features here, my Aunt said that to me one day, that by and large artists can't make decent afro-centric features. I was surprised how difficult it is. I guess it's because you think by going for the obvious differences (mouth, nose, hair) will give your character the right look. I also love what you've done with the hair her. Artists would commonly give the characters European hair but I notice that although straight the hair seems to be styled and straightened afro.
All in all your ladies seem to be well studied.

I fell in love with your style the moment I saw it! It's so simple, but so elegant and ... if this is the right word, chic? The words "sophistication" and "classy" come to mind when I see it. LOVE IT! Please keep on creating more pieces with the beautiful talent you have.

Oh my god. Kevin. I can't even... I don't... Words. Where do I even begin? Hope you don't mind another in-depth Christian-style analysis
First of all, the textures! From Oya's fuzzy sweater to Frenzy's leather boots and even M's intricate textiles. I've said it before and it bears repeating: you are masterful with traditional media, and I am REALLY jealous of your skill.
Also, the poses and outfits you placed them in really reflects their personality. Oya has a fun flirty pose with a popped leg complementing her cute outfit. Of course I love how Ororo is showing off some good ol' contrapposto in a regal white dress. Frenzy is placed perfectly in an S&M-esque outfit, and I love the fact that she's clutching her skirt not wanting to show off to much; plus, the teal(?) jacket she's wearing looks REALLY good with her hair. M... oh M. Always thinking she's better than others, especially in that haute couture shrug of the shoulders... which I LOVE!
Did the client request these styles specifically for these characters, or did you place them yourself?
Something else I want to comment on is how you're able to portray their ethnicities. And I agree, I too hate when "artists/comics draw western features for a character, give them a dark tan, and call it a day." You took the words right out of my mouth. I'm guilty of that very problem myself. You took two African women, a Black American woman, and a French-Algerian woman and gave them physical identities all their own! I love their different skin complexions, eye and mouth shapes, and hair textures (as evidenced by their hair lines and eyebrows). Oh, and by the way... Ms. Cindy for M was a SUPERB choice
And finally... Storm. Kevin, I don't think I will ever NOT love your portrayal of Storm. you took her Mohawk and made it high fashion. I admire how you've managed to differentiate the shades of white between her gown and her hair. Some comic book artists can't seem to do that.
Again !

Thanks for drawing this. I am part African American and even though I love comics, artists do draw copouts when it comes to black characters. The thanks is thanks for taking the time.
