I've been wanting to do this for a while: I've got so many characters, I decided to start making reference sheets for them all! Most of my TLK characters have already been done, but I've never uploaded them on dA until now. Bare with me--there are quite a few of them, but they'll give people a color and design ref for anyone who wants to draw them, as well as a more detailed back-story than any I've put up before.

Name: Jasiri

Species: Lion

Gender: Male

Pride: Mheetu's for a time, then Zira's and finally his own.

Personality: Cocky and a bit sarcastic, Jasiri's got a rough and tumble attitude and outlook on life to match. Aggressive (though not overly so) and daring, he is NOT shy; if he doesn't like something about you, he'll tell you. However, Jasiri is NOT comfortable with his affectionate side, which is why it took until his adulthood to confess his love to Vitani. He is also afraid of wild dogs, due to an accident when he was a cub.

Description: Gray-tan pelt, lighter gray-tan underbelly and muzzle, uncolored toes, black pridelander nose, pridelander-shaped muzzle, white dust on his nose, dark brown single eye-shade, gray-green pridelander-shaped eyes, brown inner ears, and a chocolate-brown head and tail tuft (mane as an adult) that sweeps back over his head. The top of his right ear has two notches in it.

Other: Jasiri received the notches in his ear after an adventure with Vitani went south; the two ran into a pack of wild dogs, and while Zira's pridesisters came to their aid eventually, it didn't prevent one of them from tearing out a piece of Jasiri's ear.

History: The son of Mheetu and a rogue lioness, his young mother joined Zira's pride after her own small pride had been attacked by a neighboring one sending her and her infant son on the run and separating them from Mheetu. Malnourished and exhausted, she made it to Zira's pride--unaware of Simba or the others, she bought into Zira's revenge--never REALLY knowing more than what the older lioness told her. She stayed mostly for her son: there were other cubs here his age, and while food was still relatively scarce, their chances with this renegade band of outlanders fared better than trying to survive on their own.

Growing up in the Outlands was no walk in the park, but both Jasiri and his mother managed. Despite a few....accidents here and there (such as an attack from a band of wild dogs causing part of Jasiri's ear to be torn off), both mother and son adapted to the harsh regime in which they lived, and Jasiri even found a friend in the tomboyish Vitani. With Nuka off sulking (or spending time with Dotty) and Kovu's time occupied with training, Jasiri and Vitani often had time to themselves, and grew very close--best friends, bordering on crushes. However, the two never confessed any feelings they may have had for each other--both were far too stubborn and "not in touch with that part of themselves" to ever confess.
Not even as they grew older were they given a chance: once Jasiri reached teenhood, Zira forced him out of her pride--there could only be ONE future king of Pride Rock, and as he was not her son, Jasiri had no choice but to leave.

His mother went with him, but Vitani did not; she was Zira's daughter--her right-hand lioness--and had to stay as such. The two potential lovers would not meet again until after the events of Simba's Pride.
