Finally posting these!I was asked to do a series of illustrations for The Jungle Book through www.storytimemagazine.com/ Story Time Magazine, a really freakin' gorgeous Children's Magazine that uses artists from around the world
These images and the story will be a part of their January issue, so you still have time to subscribe!!
My illustrations were for the first bit of the story, so no Baloo but LOTS of wolves! (though I had some good ideas for designing Baloo if I had to!)Β Here the wolves are just waking up in their cave with the evening light.

i think this is awesome! there is only one thing i find a bit weird, and that is the odd angle on father wolfs tail. it seems like it should be standing up, not drooping strait down... it's not even curved. its a bit weird...
but yeah, other than that, i don't really have any complaints! I really like the background... i know backgrounds are really hard to draw! that yawning pup is adorable!!! I think your pretty good at this... were you saying that that this was in a magazine or newspaper or something? well, it deserves to be. This is amazing!!!

Man, the details in the backgrounds are a really nice touch from the trees, plants, cave, roots, it all has a really nice sense of warm lighting. Excellent work!

Thank you!Β These are based more off of Indian wolves, which have a little bit more black ruff.Β I just exaggerated the subtle coloring and fluff.
