Ifiok is nosy and enjoys drama and gossip, but she also loves to influence others in their choices. Granted her advice is what she considers to be for the best, she never truly knows what outcome will result of her interference. So she’ll often tail the subject of her drama so she can see the end of the play she is watching. She also has the habit of only speaking in three word sentences to seem more mysterious. This facade breaks if she gets too emotional.
Once Ifiok was old and skilled enough, she left her small family pride that had formed when two males offered Kamau and her daughters protection in exchange for food and a stable home. She spent a couple months as a loner before discovering an interesting mountain ridge with a hidden cave system. Ifiok had an idea and spread rumor about a cliff that would give advice to those who seek it. Soon her boredom with a loner’s life was solves and spent years giving advice and then observing the stories she helped create. Kamau never told anyone about Ifiok’s father, but she eventually found out about the famed Azubike leader and how her mother left the tribe and made a lucky guess.

After ratting out the other Gacheru members stationed within, Kamau was punished for being a spy by being banished from Vimbue. Kamau’s pregnancy and Moti and his sister’s birth wasn’t under the best of conditions but their mother kept them alive and well until help arrived.
Moti is a willful and confident lion. He often takes charge of others and commits himself to managing things so that things get done while still keeping his subjects cared for. He has a strong desire for justice that is tempered by his mother’s teachings of the importance of mercy.
Kamau tried to be the best mother she could be as a rogue. They eventually joined a small band of rogue lionesses with their own cubs to take care of and a pregnant hyena who was desperate for some help. As they grew older Moti stood out as the leader of the cubs and when the time came few combated Moti’s ascension to King of their mixed tribe.

"I'm sorry I've disappointed you. I'm not beautiful and I'm not smart. I'm not very skilled either. But I love my family. I’ve only just met but we’re still family. So I want to help in anyway I can.”

After a one night stand and getting pregnant, Kamau fled from the scorn she would receive from either tribe into the marshes. However, she left at an unfortunate time as sickness ran rampant through the mosquitoes and it affected her pregnancy. Badly. Kamau was heartbroken as most of her litter were stillborn, disfigured horribly in some way, except for Thando. He was also misshapen but at least he was breathing and could nurse. Kamau loved him with the same fervor as she would have if he had been born perfect.
Thando isn’t smart, skilled, or strong but he cares deeply for others. He pays attention and will notice the small details and chooses empathy and patience rather than judge and get angry. His acts of kindness can eventually give him the impression of being “cool” although he doesn’t see it himself.
Thando grew up in a loving family. His mother became mates with his now step-father and he gained a two younger brothers and a younger sister. With his loving and fair nature he half raised his younger siblings and gained their love and respect in return. Kamau had revealed to him who his father was and she warned him that it was unlikely Absinthe would want to meet him. So Thando stayed with his family.

Kamau and Eliseo became mates before having their first litter. Birthing Chike and his brother was difficult as they had both inherited their father’s size even at a young age, but Kamau was overjoyed nonetheless about her new sons.
Large and imposing, Chike is a bit of a jock. He is always preoccupied with training for his matches as a Gladiator and it doubles as an excuse for his shyness. He appears stony-faced and emotionless but underneath he is a whirlwind of anxiety and self doubt. However, when the chips are down he is the one who is practiced at keeping his cool and acting quickly.
He was first attracted towards being a gladiator when he was a cub. They all looked so confident and strong and he, who was cowardly and clumsy, wanted to be just like them. His chance came when he was revealed to have the Root Mandla. He was a terrible fighter at first. Only his bulk inherited from his father kept him in the ring long enough to gain skills and experience from every loss. After a few years he finally reached the rank of Champion.
