Wow, this looks really great :0 I haven't seen the other versions(due to my extreme lack of DA activity) but it looks like you put a lotΒ of work into thisΒ Β Great job! The color scheme flows real smoothly and I really enjoy the touch of depth put into this.Β

You could do several different lengthy works in parallel. When you do only one long work, it naturally starts to get very, very boring.
By the way, after you removed the cloak from the right side it became noticeable that the armor on the chest in that place looks strange.

Oh yeah, frustrating work - it sounds like something more positive and inspiring!Β Β To be honest, I think the difference is small.Β Β Β Β
It happens so that the work becomes morally obsolete. This happens when there is an understanding that to remake mistakes in the old work will be much harder than starting a new work.Β Β
There are always errors in the work. You fix some mistakes and immediately begin to notice others.

For me it is way more positive because I am working through a problem, it's active and moving - where as boredom is more like when I don't know what to draw, it's stagnant - not moving. And I have nothing to solve except finding a topic - but it's a different feeling than working on a problem in an existing work because I guess I can literally SEE the problem and it's solving it in art whereas the other is solving an idea?Β I hope that makes sense!Β
I don't quite understand the second paragraph - "morally obsolete" - and "remake mistakes in the old work will be much harder than starting a new work"Β feel like two ideas, or are you talking about the same thing?Β
I guess in a way it's easier but does that makes it better? ;D
Oh yeah for sure, I totally agree with that - break some eggs!

Yes, "morally obsolete" - and "remake mistakes in the old work will be much harder than starting a new work" - it's the same thing. Sometimes it's better to start a new work than to try to improve the old one. It's just necessary to take into account all the shortcomings already in the new work.

Having the rock continue behind the head certainly brings it together and fixes the "escalator to nowhere" thing from the previous version.

I wish I could have the patience to put this level of detail in anything. Those rocks look awesome.
