This is an interesting sketch; there's a very strong sense of contrast here which drew my eye to it. 

My biggest criticism is probably that the composition is a bit off in my opinion; the main focus of this image should probably be the person on the bottom. However, about half of the image is taken up by the poles/tubes sticking/growing out of his back. This makes the character feel pressed downwards.

Looking at references of the character he also seems a bit thin and weak in this sketch. This goes along with the composition point I raised as well, the tubes seem larger than the character is able to lift, especially since they are broader than the character, who especially towards the bottom seems to taper to a very thin contact point with the floor. This misses a lot of the power that is inherent in the character's design and again makes him feel quite weak.

I think this is also reinforced by the pose. In most of the references I found of this character his head is lifted up and his chest is pused outward; radiating a sense of power. In this sketch he is facing almost downward and bending forward or hunched somewhat. The pose also doesn't seem to have a clear or strong silhouette, although I'll definitely admit that it's difficult with this character's design to draw a solid silhouette. Looking at the update version of this image though you seem to have already improved that a whole lot, so probably this critique is a bit late for that  

I do like the general feel of form and contrast you present in your sketch. Although it is obviously a rough sketch there's a lot of clarity for the limited amount of detail and lines you provided here. It shows you have a very strong feel of form and lighting even in a basic stage of the drawing, which is definitely very valuable. 

Looking at the other WIP's you posted of this image I gotta say that I'm very impressed by the amount of work and dedication you're putting into this. I hope my critique has been somewhat helpful. Good luck with the rest of the image and the contest!

First off this is an extremely beautiful piece the emotion and capability shown here is extravagant you did a lovely job with the posing in the way this Tower of tubes sorry no that word form reaches above into the sky above the monsters figure is  stunning.

I love how you use a varied amount of Grey tones black and white to create a colored look without using any color adding in a creepy vibe without being overly grotesque or needlessly bloody I don't know where the idea comes from but it does remind me of something as a cross between sci-fi horror maybe aliens what Ripley and a Crossroads tale from HP Lovecraft.

The creatures Anatomy is very good everything things used to fit together and very natural easy way he seems torn in English but should he help should we help him would we be torn to bits what he cast evil domain over would he casted evil domain over us I don't know enough behind the story to really tell.

I really hope you win the contest because I think you did a very good job now you could have put more detail Maybe but it is a very stylish Style that sounds funny but it's so true I will say it almost looks like the figure should be holding something it does look as if he is pleading for his life or his freedom?

Even though this is a really really good piece it still brings a lot of questions what is the machine he is tether to who is this mysterious strange dark creature humanoid? Only dudes I have is that it seems like the hand should have a little bit more detail but no sweat you did a really really good job here this piece immediately caught my eye and I didn't have many bad things to say about it so I hope this critique at least helps a little.
