her clothes are torn, maybe she was running from something, and got her dress caught on branches as she ran, maybe she was running from an assasin, or was running from Drej after finding out He was an Avian, As she was running she got attacked maybe, by the same assasins as before or maybe just a pack of wolves, Drej came to the rescue, his display of power against the attackers left her shocked, scared, maybe surprised, surprised he came to her aid, and that him holding her was his way of showing that he wanted to protect her. That he loved her.
Thats what I see really in this picture, The will to protect someone, Maybe the meaning of affection I see in this is wrong, And it could be something completely opposite, or there is flaws in what I've interpereted due to not quite yet knowing enough about these characters.
But despite how I Interperet what the picture means and/or any story behind it that it conveys, Its a nice picture

I really like your version of the story for this pic, Plym. Has a lot of meaning to be honest; shows strong, genuine feeling from Drej towards her and the urge to protect her out of love and care.
And Kilara, I believe you reached more than one with this particular pic.

It's hard for you to ask if it has meaning to us, since it is your work, only you know what you meant to do there.

It may be my work, but a pic has meaning that differes from person to person.
I just kinda wanted people to think of their own meaning.

It doesn't mean it's meaningless to me but just it's hard to explain it, sacrificing yourself for someone you love.
At least this is sorta of how it got to me.

i love this , been thinking over it for few good minutes now, i just love the pose, can't decided why she is shocked or scared -first time she seen him in this form? He seems possevive yet caring .

I think Kilara doesn't look terrified, but rather traumatised. Perhaps by a friend's self-sacrifice to protect them. That would explain the title and also the sheltering look of Drej's stance. (Personally, I think he looks a little too cutesy like that)
And any art even half as beautiful as yours has lots of meaning to me...

maybe you should tell us about the meaning
If I draw something that has a deeper meaning within, I tell the people, what it is.
So they can understand it
It's a great picture.
Shows a lot of tender. It makes me feel kinda save, when I mention me instead of the girl.
I'm not that good in such things... but I guess the picture should show a girl (maybe you?) who wants to be save. And the dragon keeps her save.
or maybe it shows the dark feelings of the girl in that dragon, that keeps her soul seald away from the world. Could be depression 
na... I'm crappy in searching the meaning of a picture. >>

I left my meaning out of it, because I wanted people to think of their own meanings.
To make them look deeper into the pic other than just the pretty colours.
Maybe someday when I feel confident enough about my feelings I'll fill in the blank.

Maybe it's just me, but the girl's expression looks completely terrified. Kind of a "WHY IS A GIGANTIC DRAGON-CREATURE HUGGING ME!?" sort of look.
The avian, despite it's size, looks like a child hugging a teddy bear. It's also a lot more realistic than the human - I think it's the shading. The avian is well shaded and has a lot of depth - the girl looks too flat.

That has to be one of the most funny things I have read all day!
As for the reason that th girl is flat, is because it is almost impossible to show white glow with coloured pencils.

It seems to have alot of meaing to me, but to me it seems that the white Avian is protecting the gurl. It seems to symbolize somthing to me.. but i can't quit say what..
