A large world orbiting a bright and fairy old F type star in a trinary system, Beum is the homeworld of the Naba, a large, intimidating but passive sapient species, located trailing of the Libertix Hierarchy in the Perseus Arm. The planet itself orbits relatively close to the inner edge of the habitable zone of Swar, taking over 650 days (253 local days with a 61.5 hour long day) to complete one orbit, and is itself orbited by a small moon (relative to its size). The system, while fairy old for an F type of its mass, is also younger than most systems bearing intelligent life.
Beum itself is the largest terrestrial world in the system, though its mass is not that large due to a somewhat low density (about 70% Earth density). Its surface is very surprisingly inactive geologically speaking despite a hot interior, with its four primary landmasses being relatively flat and dominated by vast expanses of prairies, heaths and a few scattered mires, with low lying grass analogues, shrubs, few trees and a warm, dry climate with a fairy dense atmosphere.
As is often the case with young worlds, Beum's ecology is somewhat primitive, lacking complexity and roughly analogous to early Cambrian era in terms of structural complexity- it is thus extremely surprising that the native naba have evolved sapience and even managed to advance reasonably far by themselves- about early nuclear age- before being discovered by the libertix. Though the many clans and city states have banned together to form a planetary government, the lack of a well defined social hierarchy or hierarchy in general means the Union is a government in name only, lacking any kind of real power. The primitive world remains fairy underdeveloped, with a few dozen scattered cities that, while certainly not small or low tech are far from the grandiose mega cities of other spacefaring civilizations.
