First thing is that this truly amazing and beautiful!!! I showed this to my Ma and now she won't stop talking about it. Second, I know the scales are made of fabric, but what type? And did you cut them all out individually and glue them on?

The reson I asked was i have been planning to make a dragon myselfΒ and was dead set on having it have scales, but had no idea how to go about it. Thank you for awnsering and giving me a method i can try/experiment with. I hope you have a nice rest of your day, and agin i love your work!

ok final thing before i attempt to shut up... when creating an armature, do you just bend one wire or create a bulk? ( by bulk i mean when looking at you're Morph- WIP... his chest is bulked out, is this from extra wire or stuffing?)

KimAlisse In reply to Glacialwolf13 [2013-08-19 00:17:04 +0000 UTC]
The bulk is created with stuffing, usually just use one wire for the spine and for each leg.

ok thanks! one last thing, when i roll a clay ball and place it into the eye socket... how do i Β the eye lids? i tried smoothing it on top of the eye and that was a fail... and haven't tried adding clay chunks on top and below the eyes, what do you recommend?

hmm, its kinda hard to help without seeing exactly what it is you are doing. I would suggest looking up some sculpting tutorials, i'm sure there is probably one somewhere for making eyes and eyelids. Β Also if you dont already have them i would get some of those rubber tipped tools meant for sculpey, they really help.

are the scales cut out of felt and painted?
π: 0 β©: 1
KimAlisse In reply to Angelic1994Demon [2013-05-28 00:23:32 +0000 UTC]
Yes, but they have a top layer of fabric applied first. Felt is hard to paint.
