I've never had jellyfish, but my friend did once. It was kind of a funny story in that she was totally chowing down on what she thought were clear noodles and then she asked what it was cause it was so good. When she found out what it was, she didn't think it was that great any more, lol!
Tacky tourist is going to be fun to draw. I think I need to put the white blob of sunscreen on his nose. And will be doing the socks with berkenstocks and the loud Hawaiian shirt...

Haha, that's how I am! I used to love this one meat my mom cooked, but then she told me it was pork and it suddenly became disgusting!
But really, jellyfish isn't that bad; it's the gummy texture that I think gets people(or what it is, lol). If you generally enjoy sushi, the fishy taste isn't a problem at all!

I think that it's realization of what it is for sure with the jellyfish. Kinda funny how our minds work that way. Sometimes, I think ignorance is bliss.
I bet you do see a lot of tourists like that, living near the beach. The other thing I notice about oceanside towns - proliferation of shops selling those brightly colored wind socks/pinwheels/doodads for outside and salt water taffy.

I'm sure you like kimchi since it's in your username, but the day I eat some mysterious Korean mush and hear that word will be an awful day; I've heard too many stories about its creation and experiences with it to just take it like a man. 
Hmm... well, my city isn't tacky with all that stuff. Surprisingly enough, the pinwheels, souvenirs, and taffy all belong to Solvang, a Danish tourist city an hour or so away. Go figure, right? I've always wondered why we don't have that sort of thing...
No, my city goes for the big stuff - like concerts and bellydancers and dragracing!

I don't think it's all that scary - looks like cabbage basically with red chili powder, but every culture has to have their dishes that scare people off
That is pretty funny that landlocked Solvang has all the traditionally coastal tacky stuff! I went there once with a friend.
