...then she spotted the furniture and remotes she had she had hucked through the vortex and deftly gathered them up, taking them home, and all was forgiven... except for the considerable water damage her dress was now causing to her parents' carpet. Also, she forgot she would now have to explain to her girlfriend she was now even hotter than her, and magic... Maybe she shouldn't hav... Dammit, the portal's gone. Oh well. :3

It's a very interesting story. I wonder about his/her parents' reaction when their son is gone along with some furniture x0

"Good riddance?"
At least when they figure that it was he who got rid of their furniture ^^

Very nice visual effect for the shoes disappearing there.

Well done! Not only did you end up nailing the liquidity effect on the dress, that "burning/misting through the shoes" thing is something I've never even thought of -much less seen- anywhere else before. You were really on point with the posing and the foot angles on that last segment, as well.
Love it, mate!
Hell, I think I'm going to go ahead and steal the idea of a water nymph residing in a river, oasis, or even cave for a future D&D desert/badlands campaign, as well. I never really realized how tired I am of seeing them exclusively show up in ponds in the middle of forests until now.
