Some of us lost a dear sweetheart, some of us lost a dear dad. Some of our mothers, sisters and brothers, some of the best friends we had. It’s time we should stop all this warefare, if women and children must drown, when the Lusitania went down.

sad picture, thought might find interesting in my gallery, I have an original souvenir spoon from the Lusitania and a Maiden voyage Lusitania postcard too, I hope find them interesting, and the spoon's condition since the mark on the back dates it to 1907

she was a registered auxiliary cruiser in the british Navy built with the Help and Money from the british Admirality and she transported illegal war material contrary to international law that where making her a legally War Target.

She was removed from it and the contraband is really a grey area in naval warfare (Given the British were the ones who wrote the rules ). In reality, Id argue the German U-boat commander made a mistake. He thought she was a cruiser and acted on bad evidence.

This looks so realistic. Plus, on May 7 this year, it will be 100 yrs. since her sinking. I hope Hollywood makes a film on the Lusitania. Honestly, I believe this is the most famous sunken ship after the Titanic.

Ken Marschall is probably one of my most inspiring artists in existence. I have only found very few to match the detail and quality that this man produces on a single canvas. Its really breathtaking to look at despite the tragedies taking place in some of them like this one.

haha to the person who became whiny you uploaded another photographer's work. had they taken a second to read they'd know you credited the person. i think we are all extremely thankful you uploaded this very powerful picture. it takes my breath away - in a sad way. it's unbelievable to look at all of those people, fearing for their lives, many knowing they're about to be sucked down with the ship. ugh. i couldn't imagine the unbelievable amount of fear. this picture is just... insane - in so many senses of the word.Β

It's sad that the Lusitania doesn't get as much acknowledgement as the Titanic. They're both tragic.
.And people like putting all the blame on one person, when both the British and Germany were at fault. They never stop using someone as a scapegoat. Germans had spies in Britain and they got word that luxury liners were carrying military munitions and they went and started sinking a few of them. So the Germans knew there were innocent people on those ships and willfully sank them. The British were arrogant enough to think that the ships were safe if Americans were on board. How wrong they were.

for me this was a more greater hardship than titanic, since titanic had time almost 2 hours to sink, while lusitania didnt had time, i mean just 18 minutes and all would have been happening so quickly, the sinking and hastiness on reaching the boat deck, lowering the boats etc.

I agree that it was just as tragic as the Titanic because lives were lost. But I believe that those people are with God now. And families have been reunited.
