Description
When I revisited the old lineart featuring Selvaria Bles and her aide-de-camp Johann Oswald Eisen (a.k.a. Karl Oswald in the Japanese version), I realized that Selvaria needed a full revamp in her own half of the artwork. As a result, I took the last 2 weeks to use Krita as a means to draw an entire character rather than just refine a lineart that I already drew by hand. The result is excellent to say the least.

In this revamp, I wanted to improve Selvaria's overall looks so she could look like a proper Fallschirmjäger. I took inspiration from my favorite customized looks for female characters in Battlefield V, especially women who sport low hair buns. This new look is definitely more appropriate for the time period than if she kept her hair down. I also promoted Selvaria to the rank of Generalleutnant (equivalent to a major general in the US), but only the later addition of yellow/gold color on the rank markings on both arms will confirm. Instead of a cap, I gave her a fallschirmhelm (paratrooper's helmet) with a to-be-camouflaged cover.

The medal around Selvaria's neck is the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. It is considered as one of the highest German decorations that could be awarded during WW2. Watching (now-retired) Michael Caine as Col. Kurt Steiner in The Eagle Has Landed gave me the idea of drawing a higher distinction for Selvaria. In fact, Steiner was wearing that same medal in the movie.

Consider this as a teaser of more to come. I have some work to do in slightly revamping Johann before the new lineart is posted.
