Batman: He is a hero that across many of his depictions deserves better. No matter what he does, Gotham typically remains a hell hole.
Akame: Haven't read/watch Akame Ga Kill.
Zuko: Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said about him. He could never achieve the approval of his good for nothing father, and was banished because unlike his sister he actually had principles.
Kenshi: As far as I can tell, the character seems pretty well adjusted despite losing his eyesight. Then again he did have plenty of time to cope.
Kanan: He's one of the best Star Wars mentors for how human he was and the loss he had to cope with.
Shoto: I'm not sure if it's subtext that Endeavor is abusive. It's made pretty clear that Endeavor is a big jerk who pushes Shoto to aim for the spot of #1 hero because Endeavor could never achieve it himself. Even though the fire wielding jerk has shown he's not heartless he's still shown other people he runs across a lot more courtesy than he has his own son. He deserved to have his pride crushed by getting All Might's position by default.
Eddie: Yeah nothing goes right for him. Eddie has had to deal with Spider Man letting his fear get the better of him in their interactions, almost dying a number of times, and is just an outcast in general. Even though he's got some legitimate heroics under his belt. That hardly seems fair given that in the same world, the X-Men let have let Namor and Magneto into their ranks, even though the former is the single biggest on again off again supervillain Marvel or DC, and yes that includes Magneto.
Nadia: Haven't watched it.
Ganta: ""
Sinon: ""
Genos: He and Saitama both get screwed over by life. Saitama gets no respect, while Genos gets turned to scrap every story arc. He's almost like a heroic Waspinator.
Spock: Still need to get more into Star Trek.
Jason: Haven't gotten into that franchise.
Pyrrha: The whole world was just too cruel to her. She had a ton of burdens put on her, and at the last moment the power she supposed to get was taken by Cinder. In that whole fight Pyrrha pretty clearly showed she would have become stronger with magic than Cinder ever could have, if the Fall Maiden's power hadn't rendered Cinder impossible for Pyrrha to damage she would have killed Cinder. But on the plus side, Pyrrha's death caused Cinder to lose an eye. Here is hoping that Ruby takes her other eye in Volume 7.
Kazuma: I think I have heard of that franchise. It's about a girl who is cursed, right?
Snape: Well actually Harry did forgive him. Some people argue he shouldn't have forgiven Snape, but I don't feel like debating that.
Ryuko: She eventually got some friends out of her misadventures. Though killing Senketsu was too cruel and I feel like it was done just so there could still be a conflict in the post finale.
Tommy: Some criticism he got was legitimate given how much of a spotlight hog he became, but his haters went too far. This was a character who helped win a lot of people to the franchise in the first place.
Lucy: It feels like the world itself hated her. She kept losing everything throughout her entire life, even when Lucy tried to good, nothing worked for her. Her death at the end of the manga felt more like a mercy kill.
Rin: Haven't gotten into that franchise.
Charlie: You talking about the book or the movies?
Korra: In a lot of ways, Korra had worse struggles than Aang. Aang was the Avatar who didn't want the role at a time when the world needed the Avatar the most. Korra was Avatar at a time when the world was changing, and all her enemies were people who felt the world didn't need the Avatar.
Jimmy: He can be a trouble maker as many of the show's conflicts are caused by him. At the same time it's hard not to feel bad for him in some episodes, like when the kids got superheroes, he tried warning everyone else to not recklessly use their powers and they didn't listen. Eventually they all got into hot water because of it.

In the case of Kenshi, I honestly wasn't sure who else to put down for the disabilities category.
Kanan was another great choice to include because he had a really great redemption arc that came full circle in such a nice way that I feel reflected Ezra's final choices at the end of Rebels quite nicely.
With Genos, I chose him over Saitama because I feel the fan base downgrades more than they should, because the main reason he honestly loses almost all the time is because of plot-induced stupidity.
You make a lot of great points where Pyrrha is concerned, though I find it questionable as to whether she could have won if Ozpin had succeeded in transferring the last of the Fall Maiden's powers to her. Not to mention seeing that memorial statue was a tough experience to watch my first time around, though it did give me new forms of motivation to keep up with my alternate universe fan fiction with her as the main character. Either way, dead or alive, still my favorite RWBY character.
Well, there is an arc with a cursed girl in Kaze no Stigma, but it's more about Kazuma rekindling the broken bonds with his family.
With Charlie, I was referring to the book mainly; I just used a picture from one of the movies for the sake of simplicity.
And with Jimmy, I mainly put on him here because while there were plenty of times where he was a bit of a twit, he also had plenty of moments where he does the right thing, admits his mistakes, and then averts the crisis of whatever malfunctioning invention he's made and then gets chastised because people only choose to remember the bad aspects of the conflict.
