Description Another addition to my bookmark collection.

The Picture of Dorian Gray, for me, was one of those books that I enjoyed the most when I read it for the first time. I love the characters, the message, the idea and the writing style so much that it's one of those books that I wish I could read for the first time again.

I've always loved Oscar Wilde, as both a writer and a person, and it's sad to know that this was his only novel, even though his fairy tales were beautiful.

And before to ask: yes, that yellow scarf is Basil's.

This is a very interesting motif for a series of bookmarks. It's a visual depiction of the character, and yet the top half of the face is cut out of the composition, allowing a certain amount of masking to still take place in the reader/viewer's mind. I approve enormously, and sincerely wish that I had thought of it first. xP

Have you ever read Mister Wilde's plays? They are by far my favourite aspect of his body of work. His wit is captured in it's highest concentration in their dialogue, and I would strongly encourage anyone who confesses admiration for his work to peruse them at their earliest convenience.

Thank you very much! I enjoyed making them and I hope to make more.

I have, actually. I particularly remember enjoying studying The Importance of Being Earnest in high school and being fortunate enough to see it in Stratford a year later. His wit always makes me smile and his fairy tales are always beautiful.

I look forward to seeing them (:

I studied Earnest in high school as well, and now I own a copy of his life's work as a result. His fairy tales are indeed quite awe-inspiring, The Happy Prince brought me to tears as I read it (which is quite uncommon for me). But above all else, sometimes I really do wish that people could speak as they do in his plays. So many paradoxes, it just makes me smile.

Oh! Now I see the frame! Silly me. I didn't read the novel yet, but I know a little bit about the portrait.

You mean the portrait? I guess it sort of blends in, but it is a big part of the story, so I'm glad it brings that effect. Thanks!
