Description Oil on canvas board, 33 x 24 cm

March 2012

I returned to oil paints after a year of painting with acrylics and watercolours. It felt good, but man, it took so long for the paint to dry! This was inspired by the Echo & the Bunnymen song "Ocean Rain" ([link] )

oooo! i might like this one best of everything you've done! i love that song too, i saw them in concert in the first row when i was in high school.
there is such movement in it! is that the windsor blue, oh it's oils, what color/colors is the blue? i really love things like this that are so very very abstract! wonderful!!!

Wow, that's... well I don't know what to say! Thanks! Ooh you were so lucky to see them live back then! The blue is mostly pthalo blue, with a hint of preussian blue here and there. I use watersoluble oil paints (Winsor&Newton), because they're so much easier than regular oil paints.

I painted this in one session, quite quickly so it was all wet on wet. Before I started painting, I meditated for a while and did some Tai Chi, and then I just let it all go and this is what happened.
