Description Acrylics and mediums on cardboard, 24 x 33 cm

Yet another layered painting. It started as an experiment with cracking medium, then I noticed the cracks provided a nice basis for textures. I went on adding colours, scraping them, adding thin layers of white, until I felt it was finished.

Music: The Chameleons - Soul in Isolation

P.S. I don't know where that dark line at the bottom of the painting comes from because I don't see it in the image on my computer.

thats excellent, i like the rawness of it. its scratchy and aged looking. your colors are well chosen....

Thank you. The aged look was exactly what I was going for. Takes some work, but totally worth it.

Thanks! I worked on this for about a month, in short sessions (approx. half an hour at a time), adding layer after layer, or scraping something off, or wiping the wet paint off. I had the background finished for about two weeks but couldn't figure out what to paint on it, until I accidentally came up with one blue stripe/thing, and then it was a simple choice to add the second one.

There are many emotions incorporated in there.

The crackle medium is very exciting to work with. I highly recommend it!

This is beautiful.. the song reminds me of an Echo & The Bunnymen song, both '80's and British..

Thanks, also for the link. Echo & The Bunnymen is on my list of bands I should listen to but haven't gotten around to, yet.
