My brother uses the nikon D80 and it seems like a good camera (I've borrowed it once or twice), only problem (for me anyways) is that it doesnt handle IR

Maybe, but i don't need infrared, so i'm not that sad about it and didn't even think about it... I'd really need it if i'd take night shots of animals, but that ain't the case, so...

Awesome! What i think really stands great is
the composition: you managed to keep a lot of interesting things in this shot: the distant silhouettes, the sun, the color tones on the field and the beautiful sky. Even the closer tree on the right side, even if it has a secondary role, plays its own part. Great
