How is not wanting to marry Chukia risking their whole kingdom?
If a betrothal inside their pride is that important then she should have worked for betrothals for all her cubs to ally kingdoms to strengthen those bonds, not just the heir. That's how resentment gets going.

Chukia's and Nzuri's betrothal is important to strengthen the bonds inside the pride, the bonds between the ex-outsiders and pridelanders as they have been growing more and more distant. That fact will be more highlighted in the pages to come. The bonds between other prides are as strong as they were before Scar's ruling due the marriages of Kiara's siblings.
