Wow, you fight too?
That fits the bill, I haven't drawn anything like this in a while. Comic art was going very well for me until I discovered painting.

Thanks Dan!
I'm not very good with ink. I bascially used the pencil tool in Illustrator for the inking.

Thanks! It's basically comic-book coloring... which I've come to learn as being much easier than actual painting.

Fantastic job with the shading.
Using a limited color range you have not only done a great job distinguishing the parts of the outfit but given them excellent texturing as separate material types as well.

You don't have a problem with the... uh... breasts? I've been told I often exaggerate, but hey -- If you can't exaggerate in a comic, where can you?

I used adobe illustrator for the 'inking', It wasn't too bad, and saved me a lot of time. It does take a lot of learning though...

Thanks! What medium are you currently using? My first digital art program was MS Paint then 'MS Imager'. It wasn't until my friend shoved me into using photoshop 4.0 that really changed my perspective of digital art.

Kupuohi In reply to Klyph [2006-04-15 15:26:31 +0000 UTC]

I'm just using printer paper, some ball pens (Micro, Medium, Bold), roseart colored pencils, roseart markers (Only about 3-4 times on DA), .5 lead and .7 lead papermate mechanical pencils. And of course the HP Officejet 7310 All-In-One for scanning

I've always liked digital better, not only does is not require you to buy the clolors but it seems to color pics entirely rather than leaving spaces white, darker or lighter like with colored pencils and markers. It just looks nicer to me, though they won't be much outside the comp, I usually don't show my art to anyone out here anyway, just to the DA visitors or the deviants

Klyph In reply to Kupuohi [2006-04-16 07:51:08 +0000 UTC]

I have a canon all-in-one. It's not as good as an HP admittingly.
You're right, I switched to digital painting for exactly that reason - colors! And no mess to clean up. I'm messy when it comes to paint. Plus you don't have to do the extra scanning.

I love .5 lead. That's where all my ideas get started.
