YOU USED A MECHANICAL PENCIL?! How do you do it?! This is breathtakingly amazing, well done, fine person.Β  Β

^^ Thank you so much! And yes, I prefer mechanical pencils because I don't have to bother with sharpeners and whatnot. So long as you're okay with a sharper, harder outline, there's really no downside from my perspective. You can still smudge and shade.

So true. I guess I've always preferred to use regular pencils over mechanical since regular pencil marks are easier to erase. But whatever works for you is fine!Β Β

That's true--I use a high polymer Pentel eraser, which works like a charm for me, but whenever I misplace it I go nuts trying to fix all of my mistakes. ^^ Joey Darkmeat, I am not.

I know, I need to get me some mechanical ones as well, I've been through 3 sharpeners in the last 2 weeks and plus the kids keep making off with them and I'm running around the house going, "where the F are my pencil sharpeners!!! GAH!!" lol

Exactly! My mother kept stealing my sharpeners to use for her makeup and after a while it got old. ^^ So I use mechanicals; I like to use .7 lead for outlining and .9 for shading and smudging, although both can be used without the other.Β

Yeah when I used to draw manga all the time I used mechanical pencils most of the time because they are easier to smudge when you are doing shading.

You drew manga? That's one of the hardest styles for me. ^^
