Description OK, now before you say I'm emo, I am only illustrating an event in my life through Abigail and her forgotten foal, Raindrop. I may not kill Raindrop in the comic. But that's a long ways off! Anyways I drew this thinking of when my dogs got poisoned. If this was real life, I would be Abi (even though I'm more like Dixie, but non of her foals die) and my precious dog, Dingo would be poor little raindrop. Because Dingo was my baby. When we found Sweetie dead, we buried her right away, but we never found Dingo's body. For the longest time I had this hope that he was still alive and would call and call for him but he never came running like he always did. If only the person who killed him knew how much this crushed me. A few days later, I saw vultures circling over the trees. I hated them! I wouldn't let them eat my baby! I tried to follow them to Dingo, but I didn't want to see what they would lead me to. Anyway in the picture it's foggy, just like that horrible March morning. I will remember Dingo the way he was. His spirit still runs free with the wild dogs. Perhaps some of his coyote relatives. (he was a coyote mix) Now my other dog, Lucky (the one that didn't get killed) is all weird. My aunt has her, but she doesn't remember me and doesn't even let me pet her. She's all fat and depressed because she lacks exercise.
But about the picture itself, Sorry about the vultures. They look like crap. I guess I don't really mind because I don't like those birds anyway. I don't know what my problem is. They are just nature's clean-up crew, but every time I see them circling, I know something's dead. Anyway, I just should have used a ref for the vultures, because I have no idea what they look like up close!

Tell me if the mature filter should be on because this does have "blood" in it. If anyone if offended please tell me and I'll put the mature filter on at once.

Sorry my trees suck. I used my crappy tree brushes

I'm so sorry for your loss. You should be sad you should be very happy, their in a better place now. Where no one can every harm them again. I know what it's like. My Cat had 5 kittens and two of them didn't pull threw because they were so weak. They may have not been poisoned but I know what its like to lose a beloved pet.
Sorry for saying this so far after you posted this

very sorry about what happened to your dogs they were very lucky to have an owner like you and they've probably been assigned your guardian angels
We had a scare last month... our 80 year old black lab got overheated (though we didn't know that at the moment) and he wouldn't move he just sat in the creek probably waiting for his time to come. we got him to the house and gave him a bath then he got ot sleep in the basement which he very much enjoyed and he's doing better. we give him fishoil everyday to clean his system out.

wonderful picture, the vultures are awesome, and i see no need for a filter

Thank you Oh, that would be quite scary! One time my puppy, Maggie, which is the dog I have right now, got snake bitten by a copperhead. He face swelled up and I was crying my eyes out thinking she was going to die. I kept going and checking on her in the night, and we gave her charcoal power in ice cream to absorb the poison because that's what we did when Sweetie got bitten once. It worked and she got better. Then a different time, (sorry for going on like this) She followed our cat, Chester up into my grandpa's old house. Somehow she got stuck on the roof. I heard her barking, but when I called and she didn't come, I figured there was something wrong. So I went through the woods and found her (quite a hike!) and I got on the roof through a window to get her. Then I was stuck there too because there was a big hole between me and her. I jumped over where she was, then I was like, hmm. I wonder how I'm gonna get down. Well long story short, I was stuck there for a while the the roof caved in under me and I was grounded forever! But Maggie was safe and we got her down later with a ladder. So sorry for typing your ear off! lol

Well, actually, the charcoal was what helped her, but we put it in ice cream so she would eat it! She didn't care that is was gritty, black ice cream! Oh, yes. Veeeerrry fun! haha, I guess it was like an adventure and tiresome from hanging there for 20 minutes before being rescued!! And I have a piece of metal in my finger to remind me of it too! It doesn't hurt too bad, so I guess I'll just leave it in there!

Stars-and-Skies In reply to kokamo77 [2009-09-14 10:24:32 +0000 UTC]

oh lol oh the charcoal! lol A piece of metal? Cant you get tenchnis disease or something like that from metal? I'm just saying because one time we went to my neighbors horses and they weren't at the gate but i really wanted to see them that day. (the road that we live on turns then there's this minor field that is there along with 2 houses if you follow the 1st road you end up on the interstate. but if you follow the second road then on the left theres ditches but then they elevate steeply just to give you an idea of what was) so we follow the second road and we found them, but you had to cross one of the ditches and go up. i did that but in doing so (plus carrying treats ) i slipped, i dropped the treats and grabbed one of the horses manes, i dont think it hurt her as much as it did me. i cut my hand all the way across my palm and my mom said to make sure there was no metal bits in it. but i think cuz i got the shot i was covered. i guess it was my turn to write a long comment sorry for that lol

kokamo77 In reply to Stars-and-Skies [2009-09-14 21:31:47 +0000 UTC]

Yup! I don't think she would eat it plain. Lol But it did kinda sound like I was saying that! Idk. I've had it in my finger for a year...and nothing happened to me. I may already have the shot...I can't remember! My finger is just a little fatter and it has a little scar there that's about it...and it doesn't hurt so I don't think I need to spend so much money to get it out! I would have to have surgery....so yeah. Wow, That would hurt! ouch! Mine didn't really hurt because when I was hanging there for so long I didn't even know my finger was cut!

I feel so sorry for your dogs I know how it feels but my story was diffrent! You shouldn't critisize yourself about the vultures because the look aesom and so do the trees and everything in this picture! What I try to do when I think about my old baby dog is think that she is up there chasing squirrels and eating bones!!

really much emotion about
it! Dingo relly let's me think of Vlekje, (dutch name,i know),a little kitty from 2 months old or something. But he's just been missing from the start of vacation! There's a guy in the street, who hates our cats, cuz they attack his one. But you have to understand, cats just protect their territory. And after he said he has been to the vet with his cat, 3 of our cats just dissapeared! First Thuckydides (weird name, then oliver, then Vlekje! I Hate that guy!
