Description I realized that I never actually officially said anything about this, so here we go! For the month of March I've made a goal to improve on my human drawing skills. I painted something at the beginning of the month and I will re-do it on the first of April to see how much I can improve in a month. Every day I've been drawing people and I've also been doing 30 minute studies like this one!

I don't usually post this kind of stuff to my DeviantArt, either it doesn't get posted anywhere or it will go onto my Tumblr, but I figured I would commit to this publicly and show one of the studies that I thought turned out okay. This one also happened to double as a value study and was loads of fun to do, I actually really enjoyed working in greyscale for this!

Thank you very much! I really liked working in black and white, the video really caught my attention because of it and I love the play of values.

Amazing! It reminds me of those noir movies I'm fond of. The drama of the piece reminds me of almost David Lynch style film, very haunted and very much alive. Excellent work!

Thank you kindly!! I really like the drama that black and white pieces can bring out, and I hope by studying enough of these I can start to build my own emotional scenes in this way. (:

Hi KokoKiero ,
First of all, Kudos to an awesome work here. Now below my views for you.

Vision:
I am extremely inspired by what you are doing and what you have planned to do ahead with your skills. I shall look forward to see the re-do as you have mentioned.

Originality:
To me, this looks a lot like a black-n-white photograph that was taken just when it was about to be in focus, you did managed to get the focus where it’s required. I believe because of your digital brush strokes this piece looks quite original.

Technique:
Practice makes perfect, and that's how one can make his/her skills. I see a great skill set from your digital paintings, and I am sure you have even greater projects waiting for your mark to be on them in future.

Impact:
This artwork has an expression that has an exemplary feel to it. If you are trying to improve on this level, you will boost beyond imagination.

Showcase:
It has a very sophisticated presence to it, on its own, it can be printed, fitted and hanged on a huge canvas of '7 x 7 ft' edge-to-edge on a black wall. I only want to suggest you to use a watermark or a sign on your piece, since there are many crooks who can re-use your artwork. I do understand watermarks kind of depletes the look of an artwork, but it does saves your original work.

End Note:
I hope my comment is good enough. Keep up the awesome work!

Thank you very much for the feedback! I do have a watermark, I just don't usually put them on sketches or unfinished work. I have the re-do deviation up here if you're interested:    Thanks again for your kind words, I appreciate it!

Very nice. The black and white with emphasis on the dark shades gives it an intense feeling.

Thank you! I really like atmospheric images, and I wish to learn how to emphasize dramatic feelings in my own imaginative work.

It's an effective image - and, I suspect, a good way to stay motivated. Best wishes.

Amazing piece. I have a friend who is obsessed with Brendon Urie so I will definitely show her this.
This is stunningly realistic and the entire mood of it is just... ah... it just draws me in but I don't know the word for that xD
Really cool piece, though!

Thank you so much! I really liked this screenshot, it has so much atmosphere to it!! I hope if I do enough of these studies I'll be able to start putting in that same feeling when I do stuff from imagination.

Yeah these studies are awesome, you actually inspired me to start trying out some myself. And yes, if you practice these enough I am positive you will be able to create your own powerful emotions through your original pieces

Thank you! Trying to get into the habit of not painting in such blocky strokes, I really notice it when I do these shorter studies.
