Description This is Prisley, a female German Shepherd. She stayed in the shelter for a few weeks and then got adopted by a young family who is very happy with her. I believe she came to us because of her behavior problems. Her owner couldn't handle her enthusiasm and high spirits.

Prisley was only 9 months old when that happened. A notorious age for young dogs, I can understand people can get frustrated. But its a normal process and you just have to go through it. You don't kick out your 16 year old just because he's being a typical annoying adolescent. And in dogs the period lasts a lot shorter!

She looks a bit cross eyed in this shot!

She's so sweet.
I don't understand people, I mean why only show patience and understanding to people only, animals should recieve the same amount of patience and understanding. My dog is half german sheperd, now he is 3 yrs old. But boy he was a nightmare at 9 months but we pulled trough

Exactly. Nowadays people seem to think everyone can get a dog, whether they have experience or not. They do not educate themselves about the breed or training and just expect every pup to grow up stable and easy. I get extremely frustrated when I meet people like that especially when they want to get rid of their dog because it didnt work out that way. Unfortunately I get to meet a lot of people like that through my work!

Yes, that's so sad, and the dog is the one that pays the price. These people just don't think about the consequences of their actions.

I'm surprised that it wasn't obvious how enthusiastic and hyper German Shepherds could be, especially young ones.

People will always be ignorant. Such a shame. But in the end everything worked out great for this dog.
